“Northern Getaway”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

I decided to take my Managers on a getaway function up North only 2 hrs away from Toronto.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Susan with her warm smile! The Chalet that we had stayed in had all the comforts of home which exceeded our expectations. We decided to go on a guided canoe trip with her husband Peter. We crossed back country lakes and waterways that are only accessible by canoe and the amount of wildlife we saw was amazing.

We decided to take our fishing gear as well caught some huge large mouth bass as well as a Muskie.

The hospitality of Susan & Peter were outstanding and we look forward to our next trip up North!

Located only two hours north of Toronto, Healey Lake is smaller and less pricy than the other Muskoka Lakes. We found Lakeshore Marina to be a small, clean, well run and intimate resort for those who want to relax and be in touch with nature. The owners are always on property and assist with boat rentals for a fishing trip, take you on a moonshine cruise or suggest a route for a canoe trip. The cottages are nice, spacious and offer all the amenities you need for a family vacation. Not recommended if you need to be close to bars and entertainment. You buy your groceries in MacTier (15 minutes) and also find a couple of nice restaurants within a 10 - 15 Mile radius.
