“Fantastic hotel”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We stayed at Branson hall for 2 nights over the bank holiday and can only say it was fantastic. From start to finish everything was wonderful. The staff are exceedingly polite and helpful and the food excellent. This hotel should be a 4 star of that there is no doubt.

Absolutely stunning looking hotel, best appreciated from taking a walk around the lake in the garden. Idyllic setting and very well appointed hotel. Staff all very pleasant, friendly and attentive without being at all overbearing. Swimming pool is small but I used it three times and had it to myself on each occasion so whats to complain about? The fitness room again is small, but had enough equipment to meet my needs. The meals in the restaurant and bar were excellent although I would agree with previous comments about the afternoon tea being a little lacking! Perfectly happy with breakfast, very nice indeed. Would recommend and we will go back if we are in the area.

Just outside Lincoln this very comfortable hotel has a sweeping drive in and well kept parkland ( including lake). Inside we had a warm welcome and were impressed by the air of comfort in the lounge and dining room.
The bedroom was fairly spacious, quiet and had all the facilities we needed from towelling gowns to a well provided hospitality tray. Shiny clean too.
The food was average but we were with a group so had a limited menu choice.
All the staff here were very attentive and had a happy disposition making it an enjoyable experience whether in the lovely dining room or at reception..
All in all a relaxing and pleasant three days.

Room Tip: Try for a room overlooking the lake

we have just returned from a two night break using a Groupon deal, which was excellent value for money. Having already been recommended to this hotel by friends, and read previous reviews on this site, we had no doubt that we had made a good choice, and i am very glad to say that it didn't disappoint. It is an impressive building set in beautiful grounds and in the small village of Branston. One of the most refreshing things we found was that almost all the staff were locals, almost unheard of at most hotels like this, and without doubt they were all the most helpful, efficient and friendly people we have ever encountered in a British hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, and all requests, big or small, were met with a "no problem" attitude. We had Room 401 which was on the ground floor and literally the first room down the corridor off the main lounge. it was a lovely spacious room, very clean, overlooking the rear of the hotel across the manicured lawns down to the lake. all fittings and fixtures looked very new, the bathroom was spotless, and plenty of tea and coffee. we didn't experience any noise from other guests going down the corridor, but i do imagine that this may be a problem if there was a function on in the hotel. Food was excellent, we had a 3 course a la carte dinner included in the price and it was superb, although one very small niggle was that there were supplements on several items on each course on the menu ranging from £1 to £4 which i thought was uneccessary.Ok if you are choosing a dish with caviar, truffle or gold leaf, but in the most part it was something like seabass or scallops, and with maybe 6 choices for each course it did rather stand out. Breakfast was also without fault, great service, plenty of choice and good quality ingredients.
We used the pool and the jaccuzi, the pool was nice and warm and you are provided with a robe and towel in your room to use, so no need to bring your own. we also treated ourselves to a couple of treatments at the on site health spa, very reasonably priced and very relaxing. on the second evening for our meal, we went down to the pub in the village, Waggon and Horses. what a find. great landlord and landlady in Andrew and Helen, made us very welcome. The beer was excellent and well looked after, and the food was good pub food, two main meals for £12! you cant beat that for value. we didn't feel like tourists, Andrew and Helen made us locals. We did try to visit Lincoln city centre, but after getting tangled up in the most badly signed one way system in an effort to find parking ( we did have a map as well)when we did eventually find a car park it was £2-50 an hour! we didn't even get out of the car, we drove straight up the hill to visit the Cathedral where the parking was reasonable and the cathedral very much worth a visit, as well as a walk around the cobbled streets surrounding it. So thank you Branston Hall for a lovely weekend, we will definately be back

had a nice stay with some highs and a few lows. Staff FANTASTIC, swimming pool great. Had a four poster deluxe which was nice but could have been cleaner and bathroom a little dirty and requires decorating. Evening meals are good, breakfast ok. This Hotel should be a 4 star and with a little thought into decor, chipped pain etc it could be. Attention to minor decorative detail would impove this hotel greatly.

In February I wrote a review of Afternoon tea in the restaurant of Branston Hall, which we found not to our liking, with plenty to complain about. Yesterday we attended a lunch party for you friends Golden Wedding celebrations. Everything was perfect. I will give them 100% marks out of ten. The food was excellent. The service impeccable. The sun shone for the first time it seems this year, and has the old saying go's "A good time was had by all". I'm sure our friends who were celebrating will agree, so thank you Branston Hall and I take back all I said before.

We stayed over one night before continuing on our holidays. We were so impressed by the service and very efficient staff that we wished that we had been able to stay longer! The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was sumptuous and there was a good supply of complimentary coffee and tea etc. Really enjoyed the evening meal which was a deal. Will stay there again, hopefully for longer next time and recommend this hotel to all.
