Travelling for work means variable accommodation, variable service and variable food. An unexpected overnight stay in Lincoln cause me to find Washy Hall, and one night became two, plus another, unrelated, two night stay only 3 weeks later. A short drive from the centre of Lincoln, one turns off the road through the gates and simply steps into the country house environment.
Rooms vary from cosy to huge, the water pressure in the showers is excellent (particularly in the annex holding rooms 6-10), the staff are both personable and attentive, and the food is wonderful. A chef who’s prepared to cut his smoked salmon that thick has no fear for his ingredients!
If you want a sterile, shiny, business hotel, you’re in the wrong place: the clue’s in the title Country House Hotel, but it’s a great find for those looking for a little oasis near Lincoln.More
