I stayed at Washingborough Hall hotel to attend my daughter’s graduation. I really wished we had booked an extra night, I so enjoyed my visit. A really lovely hotel with such a warm, cosy and friendly atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Very comfortable bedrooms with e suite and lovely toiletries and a huge comfortable bed. On arrival we were brought a pot of tea with wonderful home made biscuits. Afternoon cream tea was delicious and my breakfast was perfect. Unfortunately we were unable to have our evening meal at the hotel but my daughter who had stayed there several times before highly recommended the restaurant. On the morning of the University graduation ceremony, all the taxis were fully booked and my daughter and I were driven into Lincoln to the cathedral by Lucy and Edward, the owners of the hotel. A truly exceptional service. I hope to return to this lovely family hotel.

Thank you jean b - fabulous review of your celebratory visit to Lincoln, congratulations to your daughter on her fabulous achievement, we will miss her Sunday night stays and wish her well with the next adventure! Such a busy time but this privately owned hotel excels with the personal touches, it was our pleasure to deliver you both to the door in time. We also hope you both return, BW Lucy

We stayed one night on a business trip and although the hotel is in a stunning location, has had a face lift and the staff are friendly and helpful there is something wrong with with this hotel. First problem we had was getting into the rooms with the worn out fiddly Yale locks really ? what 3 star hotel with fine dining shuts their kitchen at 9pm ? After getting back from a business meeting late there was no room to park at the front because the front was clogged with visitor parking who were having a club/committe meeting in the front room of the hotel. I was always under the impression that a good hotel gave priority to guests not visitors.

CasperP465 We are indeed in a good lcoation, we do have a fabulous team. We are a small independent family owned and managed 20 bedroomed boutique country house hotel with some lovely old fashioned charm, keys included, not the corporate key cards. We hold lots of events, including evening conferences, private dinners, wakes, weddings........all our guests are equally as important with no VIP parking necessary. Our amazing kitchen team work very hard from 6am until last orders at 9pm, we choose to operate in this manner, it is well signposted on our website and when booking to stay or visit our restaurant. Our great hotel gives the same excellent service to all our visiting and resident guests. KR WHH

We chose this hotel on the recommendation of our son’s godparents who live in the next village. The hotel is stunning and the staff can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, in good order and decorated to the keeping of the style of the hotel. We didn’t eat in the hotel as graduation was early and as we know the local area well, we chose to eat in the city and in the village. However, the staff did promote the food all the time. Your reviews are amazing and the hotel has a strong local clientele which frequent the restaurant for dinner and high teas. Maybe a discount for the residents who stay, but £45 for us to have breakfast for example is a bit much. The garden is well maintained and the ambience is quiet and very relaxing. We would definitely return.

Just returned from our tenth visit to this wonderful hotel. As usual everything was first class super accommodation and great food in beautiful surroundings just three miles from Lincoln .We travel over 300 miles just to stay here for a few days and that in itself speaks volumes about how we feel about this hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient and we are always made to feel welcome here.A special mention for Wendy who recognised us as previous guests when serving us dinner on our first night and who helpfully provided me with a bus timetable the next day after my husband abandoned me to take aeroplane photos and also to Rob who also recognised us while serving us drinks in the bar. They have both been there each time we have stayed which in itself says a lot in an industry which by it’s very nature is served by transient staff. This time our favourite room 19 was unavailable so we found ourselves in room 9 in the church house extension. The room was beautifully decorated and very spacious and had access to an outdoor courtyard which would have been most useful had the weather been better. In past times we have always been able to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer which is superb value as there is no monetary restriction on dinner but this was unavailable this particular week as the hotel was fully booked due to graduations although still apparently available to the end of September according to their website so maybe that should be adjusted for that particular week. That being said the hotel is still excellent value for money and with two evening menus to choose from there is plenty of choice. The food as always was excellent and the breakfasts hearty enough to set you up for the day.We usually try to make a trip here at least once a year so hopefully it won’t be too long to our next visit. If you like small family run hotels with the personal touch this is perfect for you.i cannot recommend it highly enough but hope I don’t make it so popular I find it fully booked the next time we try to book it!

Room tip: Our favourite is room 19 which overlooks the front gardens but all rooms are superb

We did a bargain break here which included 2 nights bed, breakfast and diner, as well as transport to, and a free entry into Lincoln Cathedral

Our room was absolutely super, as was the bathroom and the four poster bed.

Breakfast was excellent, as was diner each evening. Drinks were not expensive and the ambience of the hotel was lovely. The staff were very helpful., We would willingly stay again.

Room tip: get a room at the front if you can
