Let's be honest: at Pierre de Lisse, you are still in the bush. Bugs/mosquitoes, flooding, and things which are a bit outdated/unkempt. But Pierre de Lisse is honest about this and owns it.
The pool area is nice, a bit run down but who really cares. The pool itself is well cleaned great for a swim. The beach is maintained and the water great for spending hours in.
Our room (a sea-view suite) was really cozy and comfortable, and was lovely to hide in during a violent Friday night thunderstorm.
Once the storm subsided, we had to navigate the flooded hotel grounds in water up passed our ankles to make it to dinner--but it's all part of the fun in the bush.
There is no menu--it's a fixed price meal and you don't have much choice with regards to what you eat. I'm sure if you informed them of dietary restrictions in advance they'd accommodate. However, I wished we'd known this in advance...
It may be a bit overpriced for the what you get, but that is often the case.More
