My wife and I stayed for two nights in March this year and were treated so well Royalty would have been satisfied. The food was first class and the beer was very well looked after. The bar had a large wood burning fire that made the place very warm and inviting and also made for a jolly atmosphere. We shall recommend this to anyone who is looking for a similar break.
Well done to Roy Lynn and all of their staff.

Recently stayed here for a 2 day break after being recommended by a friend, and what a find. We loved our stay at this lovely pub, and so did our 2 little dogs. Roy & Lynn and all the staff were so friendly. The food was excellent, and there is still so much to go back to try. Yes our room was chilly to start off but with the extra heater it soon warmed up and there was plenty of hot water for a good soak after a walk, we loved the quaintness of the place, lovely settling and gardens.

We were glad that they closed early on a Sunday are planing to go back in March to enjoy the peace and quiet.

We stayed over last week-end and enjoyed every minute.
The welcome is warm, the rooms are comfortable, the food is very good, and the beer excellent.
Considering how this pub was in past years, its a transformation.

Warm Saturday in October, good beer and good fish and chips in the pleasant atmosphere of both the garden and inside of the pub. We were a group of 15, we all ate well, service was good, the menu was extensive catering for large and small appetites. I'd happily return.

We have stayed at the Jolly Sailor and eaten there before. This time we were in Orford for the weekend and wanted a few drinks in the Jolly. We were first in at midday and sat at the bar and watched the place fill up with diners in no time at all. The choice and quality of beer and the chardonnay was great. Yes, it's London prices but so is everywhere in Orford. The landlord and his staff worked efficiently and happily together and they worked hard to ensure all the customers felt special. We arrived on Friday afternoon and would have loved a drink then but all the pubs shut after lunch in Orford now (I guess it's the winter) although this Sunday was fabulous weather and I am sure people would have stayed if it was open all afternoon. The Jolly has had a make-over. It is bright, clean, welcoming and tidy behind the bar. Very impressive, thank you.
