We stopped by today on our way home for tea, coffee and toasted tea cakes. It was lovely, very welcoming staff, old school and wonderful. Just what we needed, such lovely people, simple and hit the spot. Thank you

On the campsite this time but used restaurant on three evenings and enjoyed good company in hotel bar every evening. The food quality is excellent and is both cooked and served to perfection. The shower and toilet rooms are kept spotless and nothing is too much trouble for the owners of this family run hotel and camp site.

we were lucky enough to drive past Bedruthan House whilst looking for somewhere to stay for 2 nights. We ended up staying for a week having had a lovely relaxing time and feeling we have made new friends. we were told straight away, they were busy and we would need to move rooms after one night if we wanted to stay another night, which we agreed to. Our first room was lovely with a double, single, sea view, ensuite. I was then not keen to move rooms as this suited us, we were asked to leave our bags in the room whilst we were out for the day and our new room would be ready when we returned. for the same price pp we were given an apartment with lounge, double room (with sea view) and twin room and bathroom with seperate shower. we were all thrilled when we were told we could stay for the rest of the week.

The whole stay felt like we were in a time warp back to 1980 from the wholesome menu including prawn cocktail, egg mayonaise starters, gammon and egg, chicken Kiev mains. the decor was of the period but very well maintained and scrupulously clean.

We visited the bar on several evenings including quiz night and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and characters. Dale and Pavla were lovely hosts, attentative and helpful. We will definitely return.

We were walking the South West Coast Path in July 2011 and stopped here for one night. It is in an ideal location for walkers as close to the path. Comfortable and friendly with a good dinner, too.

We have just returned from another holiday at this wonderful family run hotel. The owners are friendly & welcoming, the food is all home cooked & excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for this family & I am stunned at some of the negative comments posted on this website. There is a small bar where you can chat to other residents over drinks & a good time is had by one & all.

This was the first time we have stayed at the bedruthan house campsite, we had booked for two weeks on the camping field with our two children and dog, but we enjoyed it so much we ended up staying 3 weeks! What a lovely place, It 's family run and they are all so friendly, and helpful. We arrived very late on a sunday night having got lost in the fog, but the owner was there straight away to let us in and help us site up. There were many regulars staying on the site who come year after year and i can understand why, the place is spotlessly clean, and you can use the hotel facilties, including the bar and resturant. We had the Sunday roast which was really lovely home cooked food.
It is a great location as your not far from Padstow in one direction and Newquay in the other so you're close to all the great surfing beaches! There are lovely cliff top walks just across the road which was great for the dog as well.
We would highly recommend this site and will definalty be going back next year, unless of course we can sneak in another late summer break!

I stayed at the Bedruthan House Hotel campsite with my partner and our two pre-teen children in our Hymer camper. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly but immediately overbearing owner. He showed us to our pitch and then suggested that we probably didn't want to go out again, (which I thought an odd thing to say at 7pm). This well-kept site is very small and family run and it felt as if they were constantly looking over what you were doing. I even felt uncomfortable when my children were invited to play football with some other children they met at the site. On top of this, there is an annex that appears to house disabled / elderly people which the family were understandably quite protective over, but that just added to the extremely claustrophobic feel to the site. When we went out for a meal and returned just after 11pm, we were 'told off' by the owner for coming back so late and disturbing them.

The next morning, I was woken up by talking. The whole of the owner's family were having breakfast on the bench outside my camper! We left shortly after this.

To sum up, if you are over 70 and like to be in bed nice and early with a mug of Ovaltine and don't mind someone looking over your shoulder every day and telling you how to conduct your holiday, then this campsite could be for you. If not, given the vast array of excellent campsites in the area, then I would advise you go elsewhere.
