We actually visited in November 2011 but I am adding this review well afterwards.
We were driving south to Auckland and wanted a place to break the journey and have a picnic. Wenderholm Regional Park fitted the bill very well. During the week when we visited, it is very quiet and peaceful. The pohutukawa trees are great. We took about an hour to walk from the car park around the headland and thoroughly enjoyed the break.
Quiet and peaceful for the picnic as well.
