“Friendly staff and excellent food”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

All staff were friendly and helpful, and worked with a smile. Food was well presented and tasted good. Possibly not for the "meat and two veg. brigade"

“Travelzoo plus one night”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

What an excellent hotel and restaurant. We booked ahead for the travelzoo tasting menu plus an extra night with the a la carte menu. Perfect food, beautifully served . The open kitchen is a good feature - the chef was happy (ish) to be distracted by my inane questions and deserved praise. Professional cheerful staff, seriously comfortable bed with duck down duvet etc, and a good room - we'll go for a sea view next time, but expected the car park - fair enough ! Bar prices are steep, and cocktails jaw droppingly so, unless complimentary as a result of a misunderstood menu order - tactfully and professionally handled. We cant recommend highly enough and will certainly return.

“Great quality and value.”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Just returned from a 1 night taster menu dinner, bed and breakfast winter deal at the St Moritz. Absolutely fabulous! Check in was slick and attentive, the bar/waiting staff warm and efficient. The quality of the food at dinner was exceptional (could have done with a little more of it, even just a basket of bread to mop up the juices would have improved it but I am nit-picking here as this was the Taster menu) Breakfast was fantastic - all you could eat continental buffet, full English cooked breakfast from a very varied breakfast menu, plenty of delicious toast and coffee. This spa hotel has a great gym and leisure facility, with pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna etc all very clean and high quality. The quality of finish extended to the bedrooms too. We had a basic "comfort" room which had a lovely en-quite shower room, bed was comfy and space adequate. All very clean and beautifully fitted and furnished. Throughout the hotel free hand wash, hand cream, shower gels and shampoos from the Cowshed range were available in the rooms and in the public washrooms. This is a top Cornish hotel, a great spa experience and luxury accommodation in a fantastic setting between Polzeath and Daymer Bay.
