“5 star service - best B&B we have stayed in!”
Reviewed March 19, 2010

Bridge House B&B is a gem of a find! Beautifully decorated, absolutely spotlessly clean and with the best welcome (great coffee and delicious home made scones with clotted cream and jam) you could wish for. We planned to stay for one night whilst touring round Cornwall but stayed for 2... We stayed in 'Lily', really comfortable bed, lots of space to hang your clothes up, and whilst it wasn't ensuite, the showeroom was just a couple of steps away (nice big shower), with bathrobes provided (and they are large ones, not the mini ones that don't cover you up!). We had the sole use of the large, spacious living room, which was great to relax in after a day out. Miles' breakfast was a feast - that's the only way I could describe it - and the award they have won for their breakfast is well deserved. Cereals, fresh fruit, salmon, yogurts, fresh baked rolls, toast - and best of all you could select what you wanted for a full cooked breakfast from a huge list of delicious, locally sourced ingredients...rather than the usual set menu. On our second night we booked to have an evening meal - and it was just as delicious as their breakfasts - highly recommended. Miles and Margaret were great hosts, giving us lots of advice on where to visit without being intruding. The view from the back garden over the Tamar valley is one to savour too. Better than most 5 star B&B's we have stayed in - a little gem!

Having just returned home from a 5 day stay with Maragret and Myles I tentatively stepped on the scales. I shouldn't have! It is true that Myles provides the most incredible breakfasts and amazing meals- creme brulee and strawberry shortcake stick in my mind. The scones were delicious. Margaret keeps the rooms beatifully- to a much higher standard than many hotels.Margaret and Myles are just what hosts should be, friendly, flexible and entertaining. Despite the rain we had a wonderful time- plenty of beautiful places to walk and relax.

We were among the first guests to stay at this new B&B and it is apparent that Myles and Margaret have put a lot of thought into the place. Service was impeccable, with the little touches being especially notable. A cream tea on arrival was particularly welcome after a long journey! The rooms were of a very high standard, with little touches like midnight snack baskets also provided. The location couldn't be more convenient, being right by the railway station and on a quiet road just off the A390. It's a perfect base for exploring the Tamar Valley, or for breaking a longer journey into Cornwall.

We were house hunting in the area, and were given lots of useful advice. Several of our friends and family have stayed there since (on our recommendation). All of them have had excellent experiences.

Stayed with Miles and Margaret who run this B&B. Couldn't believe the difference between this and other B&B's we have stayed in. We even had sherry in our rooms, complimentary cream tea awaits you and they even had taxi's ordered for us for an evening out. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. Hospitality was great and it felt like we were staying with old friends. Will not hesitate to return.
