“Lovely food, Lovely cosy place!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

My partner and I visited The Jolly Thresher this evening. The pub/restaurant is welcoming from the off, we were shown to a table quickly where you are not on top of the other diners, it is quite spacious. The staff we dealt with were lovely, polite & knowledgeable. The menu is comprehensive with some good pub classics and some more refreshing unusual dishes. Our food was served quickly but we didn't feel rushed. Our dishes were presented 'creatively' and the portions were deceivingly large! Be warned! You will leave full up! We will be back again soon! And another point I feel I should mention is that the entire restaurant & facilities are very well kept and clean. Over all a lovely experience and just what we needed after a stressful day.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

Visited on Sunday for lunch, the menu was extensive and very original! Not the first hydes pub I've visited but one of the best! We were seated By a young lady with blonde hair who was lovely, very polite she told us the specials and sent our waitress over for drinks. We had both starters and mains all were brilliant great value portion size to the quality! When paying our bill we did so with another young lady who was chatty and seemed interested in how are food was! The service was really top notch! WELL DONE xx

We went to the Jolly thresher on a Monday night after seeing a half price on food offer. We took our dog and the staff were very friendly to all of us! The fish and chips was lovely, good portion size and very tasty. Nice decor.

“Excellent service”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

I booked a table for 19 people (inc. children and babies) for my best friend's baby shower and pre-ordered the food and everything ran smoothly on the day. The staff could not have been more attentive.

Prior to the meal, the staff who I liaised with were extremely helpful (thank you to Molly, Matthew and Kirsty).

The decor was lovely and the kids had a good run around in the garden after the meal.

Would definitely visit again!

“"Expensive Cheese"”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Last night we enjoyed a lovely evening with friends I like the Thresher very comfortable, nice atmosphere in the place. The food was very good quality and the service was good. Three of us enjoyed the chargrilled steak and one the fish of the day. These meals were on a "Special Deal" two main courses and a bottle of wine for £39.95 which was very good. We ordered a cheese platter to share. Four slithers of cheese five crackers...... £10 ! don't bother with that. We will certainly be going back.

Dear JanboKnutsford,

Many thanks for taking the time to review The Jolly Thresher.

Our chargrill night is a lovely menu and as it includes the fish it's always something a bit different. We're glad that you had a nice time.

I must apologise for the cheeseboard, the chef sent out a cheeseboad for one as per the old menu - not the new specification. There should have been 75g of each of the cheeses with more crackers, side salad & melon. Please let us know the next time that you are coming in and we will supply a cheese board to you with our compliments.

We look forward to seeing you again soon,

Kind regards
