We first visited Bowdens Tapas Balcony in July 13 and what an evening! Authentic Spanish tapas, on a cute indoor balcony overlooking a wooded stream, served by friendly waitresses who did everything just right. As it happened, our visit was during the heat wave and at times throughout the meal, we felt like we were actually in Spain! Loved the Spanish music and décor, which combined with excellent food and wine, lead to it becoming our new favourite restaurant.

We had 6 tapas dishes (bruschetta, calamari, chorizo in red wine, patato bravas, spanish omelette and meatballs) between the two of us which was more than enough and a bottle of wine and it came to about £45 – this included two coffees which we had in the cosy lounge area at the front of the bistro. The owners Lyn and Dave, made us feel extremely welcome and even remembered our names when we returned this month (Aug 13) for round two!

Cheaper than flying to Spain for a meal on a Saturday night, and just as nice! Will be booking our next visit soon…

We have been regular visitors to the Bistro since Lin abd Dave took over. We have always found the food to be of the highest quality - the fillet steak au poivre is exceptional.
It was therefore with confidence that we booked a family celebration meal for 11 people at the Bistro last Saturday(13th July). We were not disappointed. The food was again first class and all the meals arrived piping hot at the same time - not always the case in some restaurants.
There is always a good atmosphere, due to the friendly manner of the owners.
Sandra and the rest of the staff looked after us exceptionally well, attentive but unobtrusive.
Thank you for a lovely evening.
The Herrings, Lymm

Have been here for Sunday lunch several times. It's one of those restaurants you just cant get enough of. Food is quality produce, cooked to perfection, tastes delicious, staff professional, friendly and welcoming, ambience just what one needs to relax and enjoy your Sunday afternoon lunch. Would advise you to give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
Would like to add that we have been with our Grandchildren on a few occasions, varying ages, babies and juniors, always catered for and made to feel very welcome. Thank you for Fathers day by the way, especially the free bottle of local beer, gift wrapped for the Dads.

We first visited the Bistro for a pre-valentines meal where we had the fixed price menu which was very good value and offered a range of dishes that could accommodate everyone.
After having such a good experience we then decided to return and try out the tapas balcony downstairs, this was also a very good meal, that was slightly more expensive than our original meal but was ideal for us as we just wanted to pick at a variety of dishes.
The most recent time that we visited the Bistro we went for the a la carte menu, this was a pricey menu that offered a range of dishes.
The first disappointing aspect of the meal was that we were not given any bread to accompany our starters, and we had to ask for it instead. Secondly the steaks that we received were slightly over cooked and none of the staff checked on our table to make sure that everything was ok with our meal throughout. For dessert I had the creme brulee, this was also slightly disappointing as it was burnt on the top which left a bitter taste in my mouth, the texture of the brulee was also very stiff as if it has been frozen rather than being made fresh.
There was a lovely atmosphere although the price didn't reflect the food that we had received.
So disappointing after having such previously good meals :(
