Last Saturday's evening festivities was a lovely meal outside 'al fresco'. Well prepared good food, it was simple but exceptionally fine, in a lovely setting. Will be back for sure

Friday night dinner with mum and dad. Very nice meal top quality in every respect apart from the portion size a little on the small size, Just one thing that that some may find to be a little fussy on my part is presentation is a little pretensions Please put my food on a plate, not in pickling jars on a board with a slate on it. Call me common I find a plate a whole lot easier. Having had that little moan I would go back again top notch stuff and would recommend this establishment.

We visited as we had seen the restaurant on the television. We expected the food to be out of this world as have heard only good things about Aiden Byrne, however what we experienced was just average pub grub!

Tried this for the first time. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Starter of Camembert was delicious, however the meal went downhill from there. Had to wait over half an hour between finishing the starter to being served the main course- the lady in charge was very apologetic. The Peri Peri Poussin was over cooked to the point of tasting burnt-certainly couldn't taste the sauce. The coleslaw was very average. Aidan Byrne must draw in a lot of visitors on the back of his reputation and TV appearances so I had expected something really amazing. The bill for 2 came to £80 +. Hugely overpriced for food which does not match up to local and much cheaper pubs I've visited recently. Won't be returning!

Interested to try this place due to the chefs fame, but since we live 100 miles away, we've had to bide our time. Today we were taking relatives to the airport so managed to fit in lunch at Church Green on the way. We all fell, almost literally, into our chairs which are so soft and low that the table seemed far to high, which made them mismatched, and, therefore, it was rather awkward to eat.

The staff were only ok. Twice we asked for something that didn't arrive until they were reminded, but at the same time they were all very polite and pleasant.

That said, the main reason for going - the food - was delicious. Two of us had the home made burger and chips, (one with foie gras and duck egg, one plain), two had ciabatta and chips, and one of us a had soup (which came with a very measly square of bread and no butter). Two glasses of wine, two beers between us and the bill came to £65 which I think is very reasonable.

I would go back again but possibly ask to sit somewhere else to avoid those chairs.
