A disappointing lunch at Church Green. First of all, despite telling the waiter that the two gentlemen in our party were driving he tried 3 times to persuade us to order wine which made us feel very uncomfortable. The chips tasted "old" and had been fried in unpleasant fat. A cool risotto heavy on the saffron and a crème Brule like liquid custard. We had heard so much about Church Green being good so we were very disappointed.

Three of us went for the burgers - and so glad we did. One had it with foie gras and a duck egg - divine, rich, sumptuous, definitely stick with the 5oz! One had a classic cheddar and bacon - also divine. I had the pulled pork topping - and genuinely it was the best burger I've ever had. Taste sensation.
Scallops starter with linguine went down a treat and the korma mussels were fabulous.
Very friendly staff.
Well priced for the quality.
Please bring this down south!!

The church Green is our favourite restaurant because its with out fail always been such a good experience. Our son took us for sunday lunch again perfect couldn't fault food service and affordable. Last night took friends has a birthday present to one of them. We had a wonderful evening with plenty of good food and wine. We travel over 50 miles to get there and of course another 50 to get back. Last but not least the staff are extremely helpful and friendly is a real pleasure to go there.

Familiar with The Church Green we returned last evening with friends as guests.
The staff were warm and welcoming ... Food was definatley as described on the menu and very enjoyable. Prices high as suggested by other reviews... I'm not sure ...comparable with other good pub/restaurants is more my opinion.
The venue itself is rustic I suppose....but often feels as though its lacking in something in relation to its interior. However this is soon overcome by the attention of staff and quality of food.
Worth a visit !
