“Great Food just off the M6”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

We visited the Church Green to have a break and a bite to eat during a long journey. Upon arrival we were given the choice of eating in the restaurant or bar. It was very quiet but this was a weekday late lunch. The Church Green had a diverse menu which made deciding what to have very difficult, but in a good way. In the end we opted for posh fish finger sandwiches with chips which were lovely. They are open all day and are conveniently located not far from the motorway. We would highly recommend and would go again.

“Great Sunday Roast”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

We took a trip to Lymm to have Sunday lunch at the Church Green, and I must say I'm glad we did. £19 for two courses or £24 for three, although after two courses we didn't have room for a third!
Service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was great, as we went for the roast beef. Vegetables were great, crisp Yorkshire pudding and roast potato. Would definately go again, maybe for an evening meal next time.

“Very Enjoyable”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Well worth a trip out to Lymm. We ate the tasting menu with wine matching. The courses were well balanced and well presented. A memorable smoked trout, stunning frogs legs and snails. The main course was quite sizeable, sirloin of beef and beef cheek, beautifully cooked. Dessert was nice but felt confused, aerated chocolate with mint sorbet, sounded as if it should work but was a little bit disappointing. Service was quite informal for the standard of cooking, lacking a bit of finesse but the staff were helpful and polite. Overall a great evening. I will return.

“Pre flight late lunch, bit pricey”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

I think perhaps Church Green is trading on it's famous chef/owner, we called in for lunch on our way to the airport. The menu is interesting and different to the usual gastro pub fayre (except for the burger and fish and chips) the quality of the food was average but very pricey, I would not be tempted to go again in the evening and try the tasting menu which had been my original plan.

“Very Dissapointed”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Had a meal at the Church Green tonight and was very disappointed in the experience, we arrived 15 minutes early but where shown to our seats anyway, we were given the menus and left for a full 35 minutes then someone came to take our order, not a good start,(they did give us a bowl of olives 20 minutes into that time but we don't like Olives) they took the order and I ordered the Mixed Grill and Pepper sauce, my Wife and son both ordered Fish and Chips, was not expecting the mixed grill to be so poor, the lamb was a deep fried over cooked dice sized piece of rock, the steak (said 5 oz) was no bigger than 2 x 50p pieces put together that did taste good but no sauce arrived, when I said to the waiter about this he said he would get it, I tried telling him the steak was now gone but he didn't listen and brought it anyway at a cost of £2.50 and nothing to pour it on, my son and wife’s fish was actually running with grease and the chips (at least 50% of them) where hard, we asked for 2 pieces of Garlic bread, one with Cheese one without, we got three at a price of £13.50 for 3 pieces of bread!!!

Total with 4 drinks £75, with discount £60, very poor show considering we went to the Spire in Liverpool 2 weeks ago and paid more but loved it all.
