“perfect relaxing break”

glad to have found this perfect cottage for a weeks break. Cottage is just as shown in the photos. chris was lovely and friendly and advised on places to eat and visit. I took my two collie dogs, area perfect for walking. Excellent welcome pack on arrival. Bath was to die for after a long day, very deep and relaxing. Log fire was a lovely touch. The horses at the back of cottage were also lovely, to which my dog was entertained by watching them for hours through the back door. We were without electicity for 9 hours due to bad weather. However very romantic with log burner and candles brought by chris.

What a beautiful cottage, very friendly greeting when we arrive. Cottage fitted to high standard everything you need. So peaceful for a relaxing break. Loved seeing the owners horses from the cottage. The local pub and restaurant was fab, lovely food and great service. Lots of lovely places to visit. Would book this again Thankyou.

From the minute you arrive the attention to detail is obvious. The welcoming owners, the privacy of the cottage and the stock of supplies so you can literally turn up with nothing means you can settle in immediately. I have never been so pleased with torrential rain, there was no pressure to go anywhere, it was lovely just to set the log burner going, run a wonderfully hot bath and relax in the surroundings. There are great walks from the door, an amazing pub just a 2 minute walk away and 10 miles into Chester, a gorgeous city of cobbled streets and boutique stores in their famous 'Rows'. There was so much more to do but too much to fit in one weekend when Barton Bank Cottage is just too nice to leave! I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for an extra special place to stay for peace, quiet and a touch of luxury.

“A beautiful peaceful and romantic hideaway cottage”

We were given a warm friendly welcome by Graham the owner when we arrived , and were shown round his beautiful cottage at the end of his garden. We were given a very generous welcome pack of fruit cereals bread croissants and preserves , milk tea and coffee . Inside the cottage everything was clean and tastefully decorated , the roll top bath was very deep and luxurious and the separate shower hot and powerful . There was an open plan living room / kitchen , and the four poster bed was lovely and very comfortable. We brought our 2 year old cavapoo Bella and she loved playing in the lovely big paddock right outside the cottage . Graham and Chris the owners were lovely warm and friendly people and they recommended some lovely and interesting places for us to visit . We had a fabulous week .

“Barton Bank Cottage”

Barton Bank Cottage is a beautiful cottage located to the rear of the owners main residence. Not that you would think this once you are in and around the cottage though, as you are given a great deal of privacy by the natural separation between house and cottage.

The cottage faces out onto their paddock and you are regularly greeted by the owners horses who graze there a couple of times a day. To the side is a decked area and this includes a dining table and barbeque. Our trip was complemented by excellent weather and it was lovely to sit out there in the afternoon / evening.

Inside, the cottage is tastefully decorated and comprises of a modest kitchen (the local pub served excellent food and the deck has a barbeque so we didn’t use the kitchen a great deal), and an open plan living area with log fire and four-posted bed. A well-proportioned bathroom is also provided, complete with a large roll top bath.

The cottage is well located for exploring the local countryside and amenities. Graham and Chris are very helpful and could not have been better hosts. A really relaxing and enjoyable break at an excellent price.
