“good day out”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

The house was very interesting particularly as it was furnished with a lot of original furniture .The walks were interesting and you could see a lot of sheep, cows ,horses etc.The daffodils were particularly lovely The formal gardens were lovely but the walled garden a disappointment as it was was almost empty.

“Lovely house, shame about the rest!”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Nation Trust, well done this years staff, fantastic, friendly, helpfull and informative especially the car parking young lady what a great girl.
But after this it's all down hill. Food venues were completely under staffed and over worked. How they managed to stay so helpfull I don't know, you don't deserve them.
The grounds were in very poor condition and the farm a disgrace. So little staff with children running amock causing visable distress to what animals were to be seen. The staff at the farm had no chance. It would seem the worst of the children were from the 'well to do' NT market with the parents completely unable to control the children. I wish I had taken pictures and sent them to the RSPCA.

“Nice easy walk”
Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

This is a nice estate with good easy paths for a walk about. Fair food at the restaurant and reasonably priced. However, I would not bother with the walled garden at this time as it was the barrenest and most disappointing garden I have ever seen. I am surprised they keep it open to the public in such a state. You see more plants on the footpaths anyways.

“stopped off for an afternoon on route home”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

this has got to be one of the best N.T. Houses in Anglia ,THE STAFF IN THE HOUSE WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE and you are not kept back behind roped off areas, in some of the other houses we have found the staff very stuffy they should be sent here for training!.the farm is a great area to look round too.expected to stop for a couple of hours ended up leaving after five hours.

“Food quality at Stable Cafe”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Great estate to visit with good walks. Visited the Stable Café after our walk and ordered a sausage roll. It was really heavy and unpleasant. Not the sort of food offering I would expect at a venue such as this. Surely not home made? Cakes were, however, nice.
