My partner and I stayed here on the way back from a camping holiday in the South of France. Our one night stay was the highlight of our entire holiday. Set in a hamlet that is little more than a collection of houses lining a country road, this is a beautiful place to spend a night or two.
Our host, Patricia, couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. The room, a twin, was spacious, clean and peaceful. The evening meal (23 euros per person) was a five course tour of local cuisine using Patricia's homegrown produce. Her tomato tart, pate and jams were to die for - and so was the rest. We particularly enjoyed the fact that Patricia ate with us and, though our French could be described as poor at best, we had fun using a dictionary to communicate with her and the French couple who also ate with us. Patricia, who actually spoke English rather well (and far better than she herself thought), stepped in wherever possible to keep the conversation flowing.
If we ever find ourselves in that region of France again, we will definitely pay Les Furets another visit.
