Wonderful place to stay. The owners are helpful and kind. They booked our dinner reservations for us. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The gardens are beautiful. The treehouse rentals are amazing places to stay. We loved our stay here. The breakfast is large and fresh and offers more than you can eat. The croissants were the best we had on our entire stay in France. This chateau is unique in wonderful ways. On the grounds are the prettiest chickens you will ever see. This place is charming. We enjoyed it's location, it is in a beautiful setting and quiet. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: All the rooms are pretty and comfortable.

This was our third visit to Chateau Gauthie and it has become our favorite place in France to "get away from it all".
It's only a few kilometers from the delightful medieval town of Issigeac and is set in the heart of beautiful countryside.
It is a very homely place, run with quiet and friendly efficiency by Florence and Stephane.
The house is unpretentious with simple decor and comfortable furnishings. The garden and grounds comprise mostly parkland, a lovely pool and jacuzzi, a meadow (where the chickens roam freely) and a beautiful lake, which is overlooked by the unique, habitable treehouses (designed and built by the very talented Stephane, who also cooks a fantastic traditional dinner once a week for guests).
It is an ideal base from which to tour the Perigord area, with Bergerac towns, Sarlat, Domme, Cadouin, Monpazier and Beaumont all within easy reach.
iIf you prefer to stay local, bicylces are available at the house for local cycling trips.
It is true a haven of tranquility.

Had a lovely 3 day stay at Chateau Gauthie. We stayed in the chateau itself in the blue room which was gorgeous. The attention to detail in the house is amazing! The grounds are spectacular with a lovely pool (and jacuzzi) as well as a huge garden with a lake. We were made to feel very welcome and were lucky enough to have the house to ourselves for much of the time. There are als treehouses which can be hired and they look amazing too! All the small things make such a difference in a place like this, bicycles to borrow, games for families if they wish, each room is beautifully decorated too.
Would thoroughly recommend!

This was a great B & B to stay at. We were made to feel right at home from the start by our friendly hostess. As it was a warm day we were very grateful for the pool and jacuzzi, which are located in the garden next to the main house. In the evening we used the complementary bikes to go to the pittoresque town of issegeac, a short 2 km away.

The next day, after an excellent breakfast, we received som good help in planning our day trip in the area.

The room was spacious and clean with a modern bathroom. The only drawback is that no credit cards are accepted here, so you will have to make sure you take out some cash the night before checking out.

All in all a great stay, and if we are in the area again we will most definitely return
