Hang a right just off the ring road near Ross and head down to Hoarwithy. Red Rail is just past the village sign. We knew before we had parked the car this was going to be something special... A knight in armour and a BBC dalek ( a gold one indeed) to name but two of the wonderful finishing touches here in deepest Herefordshire.
Our room was called Poppy named after a horse that was once stabled there in the barn. It was light, fresh and contemporary with a fabulous en suite. The view from our window was tranquil, verdant and interrrupted only by birdsong and the occasional hen wishing us good morning.
Breakfasts were taken in the conservatory overlooking the garden and made to order. Fresh fruit, cereals, warm pastries, home made bread and locally sourced bacon and sausages all accompanied by fresly made coffee in a cafetiere or tea in a pretty pot.
Andy and Steph have thought of everything necessary to make your stay welcoming and deserve the highest of accolades for their attention to detail. The weather was glorious and as one sat on the upper terrace outside our room with mugs of coffee and choccy bicks all seemed well with the world....
