Not everybody in our group was equipped to handle the five river crossings (forget about stepping stones - you are going to be knee deep in fast moving water) and scrambles over tree trunks and boulders to finally reach the pool at the bottom of these very impressive falls. If you swim in the (refreshingly cool - hard to imagine that the White River feeding the Victoria Falls originates from the Boiling Lake) pool the wind and spray from the water masses crashing down will eventually drive you back. An awesome experience. Definitely take a guide along: the trail head is difficult enough to find since entirely unmarked, and the "trail" up the river isn't a trail.
