Me, my wife and my cousin stay at the Superior with Garden view for one night. Easy to find parking at this hotel, there is both open air and underground car park for guests.

Hotel lobby was very poor manage, there is no potter or anyone at all to great you or help you with your luggage.

Check in was fast. Garden wasn't much of a garden, there are only a tree and a small plant at the garden.

Room facilities was very poor. No internet access was available at the room. TV set was very old school, channels availability was acceptable, there are ESPN and Star Sports for sports junkies. Water heater was terrible, after tuning on the power, the waiting time is thirty minutes to get the water to warm up! After five minutes of bath, the warm water would ran out, again thirty minutes of waiting.

The comforting thing about the room was the super king size bed, it was so huge that three of us share the bed for night without any sleeping difficulties. A small fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, hair dryer and room safe were available. Room cleanliness wise is just average.

I guess there is a mosque or place of worship for Muslim nearby, three of us was awake by the prayer "call" at 6am, it lasted for an hour, So anyone plan to stay here, you know what to expect.

The hotel do not provide room service. So if you are hungry, you need to walk five minutes to Tanah Rata town to get fill up.

The location of this hotel is good tough, if you do not want to get involve in all the traffic madness during the weekend night market at Brinchang, you can chose to stay here, the famous and highly rated Tea Cafe (The Lord Cafe) is within ten minutes walking distance from the hotel. Banks, convenience stores and tours office are also within walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: Request for a room that face the back of the hotel and far from the main road.

Thank you for staying at Century Pines Resort , we would like to apologise for your unpleasant stay with us . The management is seriouly looking at the problems that caused during your stay especially there is no potter helping at the luggages when you check in . We are now upgrading and changing some of the plants at the Superior With Garden as it was damaged by the previous guest's children .We are also in the progress of upgrading the old TV to flatscreen TV .For your information , we just finished the repainting of all the garden rooms .
Once again , thank you for the complaints , so that we are aware of the problems .

Another reviewer said this could be amazing, and they are right.

The hotel obviously was once grand and busy, but now it needs renovation. The staff are great and friendly. The rooms are a nice big size, and actually decorated in a way befitting Cameron Highlands. A coat of paint would be enough to bring them up to standard. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower, but a note informed guests not to use the bath as a bath and only as a shower (and there was no plug anyway).

Bad points are the "Fun Pub" was closed and obviously hadn't opened in a long time so the hotel has no bar. The café serving scones and tea was also very shut and hadn't opened in a while. Security booth was unmanned for my entire stay, and no bell boy in sight. WiFi is only available in a small area downstairs, not in the rooms.

The sheets in my room were stained, a common problem looking at other reviews but the bed was comfortable. General upkeep was low, in the 2 lifts only 2 of the 8 bulbs were working making them gloomy.

The price currently charged is far to high for this hotel, but with refurbishment this would be an amazing hotel again and I hope that someone restores it to its former glory.

if you are not fussy, this hotel is OK for you based on its central location in Tanah Rata. You can conveniently find shops nearby, and places to eat. I stayed with family for one night and the room that we stayed in was facing the hill at the back. You may want to get a room that faces the front that overlooks the town and incoming guests, rather than facing the hill that is only covered in secondary forest. The interior looks old, and average. This hotel doesn't compare with hotels in KL (cheap yet excellent service). This one is for you If you just need a place to sleep and rest. The breakfast provided is average, and there is no free wifi provided throughout the building. Bathtub is available in the bathroom

Room Tip: rooms facing the carpark (the front) seems nicer

Stayed here for 2 nights with my family.
There were some positives - good location, very spacious rooms and a decent breakfast.
However, the rooms were tired and in desperate need of a lick of paint. The bed linen was stained, safes didn't work (for unexplained reasons) and the locks on the door to our garden were fragile.
Worst of all was the attitude of the staff, who were indifferent to their guests...they took more interest in chatting and messing about with one another than in their guests. The hotel is in desperate need of new management.

Look elsewhere for better value for money.

Firstbof all we have to say that almost all the hotels in Cameron highlands are more or less in the same bad shape.
This hotel looks nice from outside but inside it is old and a little bit smelly.
The room we had was very humid, the humidity extractor in the bathroom didn't work and the room was all full of mould.
The breakfast was below average especially considering that this hotel calls itself a 4 star!!!
I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Took a few days off to visit one of my favorite places in Malaysia, Cameron Highlands. Quick internet booking of hotel through their website was efficient. Prices almost 50% discounted from walk-in rates. Took two deluxe rooms with garden attached. Rooms were very spacious and airy. King size beds were totally relaxing. Toilets equally spacious and clean. TV channels were ample though would be such a waste to stay indoors in such a cool climate. Convenient located at the periphery of Tanah Rata and not more than 5 minutes walk to food, groceries and shops. A short 8 minutes drive to Bringchang were dinner options are aplenty, cheap and good. Steamboat fans are spoilt for choice here. There's a nice park just a stone's throw from the hotel with swings and slides for kids to go crazy and parents to relax. Did I mention that the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful? Security was also good and wi-fi available at restaurant area. Breakfast was more than adequate with a good mixture of local and western fare. Will surely return as prices of bungalows sky rocketing and apartments are rather inconveniently further from everything else. By the way, the sweet corn sold along the roadside just before equatorial hotel can be eaten raw and is super sweet. Journey from Singapore (via Tuas) was about 7 hours (not speeding). Took the Simpang Pulai new road to CH (beware of police trap before the Smpg Pulai exit. Took the old road coming down and saved about 25 mins. Also where the durian sellers are located. Durians are great at RM5 per fruit. Have fun.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms with garden offers space for the kids to run loose but fear not as a fence runs around...

Miserable breakfast service, doesnt hold up to 4-star rating. However the rooms are nice and roomy and in a rather decent condition. Doesnt provide in room WiFi, connection to the lobby WiFi didnt work either.

Be warned: The hotel is in direct proximity to a Mosque and walls relect the noise directly into the (cheaper rooms) where it will be extremely loud since windows are of poor quality and will not protect you from blaring loudspeakers. During our stay we had the misfortune to have a 2 hour (8pm - 10pm) lecture broadcasted to the world at top volume (overpowering even a modestly loud TV) and then were woken up at 5:30 by a prayer session lasting until 7am sharp. Not the best idea for a refreshing holiday or weekend getaway. There are much better options available in Cameron Highlands for the same or lesser money.

Staff refused to accept the complaint letter about this, reception lied to us about the duration of the prayer sessions when asked and stated a duration of 15 min which would have been fine because you have to consider others as well. But when 15 minutes turn into 90 min then that is just wrong.

When we complained at reception they admitted that they knew all about it but decided to not offer a different room since they were rather full. After much pushing and written complaints the managements claims they never heard of any complaints on this and we could have simply swapped rooms since they were basically empty that night. The staff is lying through their teeth and could not even be made to simply say sorry. THE WORST HOTEL EVER. Avoid at all costs!

Thank you for staying at Century Pines Resort , as our hotel is located at the Heart of Tanah Rata , the Prayer is unavoidable especially during the Raya season, this is Malaysia , you see Mosque everywhere , and there are more than 20 hotels and motels around that area . If the complaints would have done on that night , the hotel will change rooms for the guest( provided the hotel is not full) , unfortunately , the complaint came in the next morning .Anyway , the hotel was not full that night , we still have a few rooms on the other side of the building .
We apologise for the inconvenience that caused.
