“A Positive Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

The main reason for choosing this hotel is that we needed a family room for four people at a reasonable price. The room was huge which was perfect for our family and we did not feel crampt in the slightest. The room was at the front of the hotel so there was some traffic noise as the hotel is next to the main road from Tana Rata and Brinchang, however we got used to this quite quickly. The view over the Golf Course and up to the hills made up for this. One review said the beds were uncomfortable, they were firm, but we all slept well. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice (limited if you want a western brekkie) with a table looking out on to the view of the hills. The staff were very polite at all times. The only downside is that there is some noise from the rooms next door. A car is essential in order to stay here, being a five minute drive from Tana Rata and a 10 minute drive from Brinchang. If you are not eating at the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants and hawker stalls in Tana Rata. There are too many coach and bus mobs in Brinchang.

Room Tip: The large rooms at the front of the hotel are a good bet if you don't mind some traffic noise.

Nice hotel in Cameron Highlands. The rooms are in good shape. They are clean, queen beds are the largest we've seen on our trip through Malaysia so far and mattresses are comfortable. He garden view rooms to the back (standard double) are more quiet than the larger superior rooms which have a terrace but are oriented towards the Main Street wic has a lot of traffic. The rooms are a bit noisy though, we hear the shower of our neighbors rather loud and the elevator, but these are only minor caveats. Restaurant is good, serves western and local cuisine at normal hotel prices. The hotel lies between the two villages of Tanah Rata and Brincang, means you can only reach it by car or taxi (10 rm from Tanah Rata). But it is close o the old smokehouse hotel where some of he hiking trails start. We are very satisfied and recommend this place.

We arrived quite late. We've made the booking while on the way to Cameron Highland. Luckily they're still room. Upon arrival, no concierge to help with the luggage. However, the booking was extremely smooth. Kudos to the check in Staff.

The room was spacious with two big beds (Family Triple Room). The room has a balcony facing the golf course & the road. The room has a open window with mosquito net. Some we may close & other window was not reachable. So its not that sound proof & we can hear the car soaring & roaring outside & sometimes the guest next door.

Breakfast was great & nice with various selection. Unfortunately the staff was unfriendly & we were given incomplete cutlery & when we take from the nearby table the staff gives a good stares. Is hard to call them because they seems busy to entertain other quests, cleaning & top up the foods.

Location of the hotel is on a hill facing the road & golf course. Not many things nearby & we need to drive to get to places. The hotel was unique in a way. It try to adapts cottage style architecture which make it feels of cosy hotel.

Pro's : Smooth reception during check in & check out.
Con's: Unfriendly staff during breakfast.

First time in Cameron, went on a long weekend, so the rate that I got was quite high. The room is average, not fantastic. Breakfast is standard, not a lot of selection but with bread, cereal, standard Malaysian fare eg rice, etc they charge $25 for child which is very expensive. Service was ok, I asked to swap one of the days adult breakfast for a child as I don't intend to eat on one the days. Initially the guy say no, but after talking to the manager, he is ok.

This property is easily located on the way up to Brinchang. Just a few meters to Smokehouse Hotel and 1 minute from Hotel De La Ferns. The drive path up was lined with potted of roses and the smell lingering the air was so sweet. We arrived late in the evening and requested for a room on the ground floor itself so we could parked directly outside and much easier access for my friend's luggage (photography). The reception was accommodating. The amenities in the room have served its time but they are all in good working condition. I managed to sleep well and our pillows were not inflatable (thankfully) as reported by another traveler during his time. The room is big and has 1 king size bed and 1 queen size bed divided by steps and curtain. Hence, it's suitable for family or group of friends. However, the singing from the stall opposite the hotel was way into the night but it didn't trouble me much. We didn't have the steamboat but was pleased to savor the lovely breakfast. It's local fare of nasi lemak and the sambal was superb, porridge and an array of other delights for the Western travelers. Overall, it's cosy enough for rest and relax.

Good location and value for money, easy access to explore cameron highlands. Hotel is nice and quiet, room comfort good. Free internet. Breakfast was serves a la carte, reason why only few guests staying. Hotel is located on the main road to the highlands make it a good starting point to explore it.

The most part I like about the hotel is their cafe located at the ground floor which is very well decorating with english touch and I think it is very suitable for honeymooners. The hotel looking from the outside itself is like an old english style which is I really like it. The garden that they have is just nice. Although we got a small room which is on the 1st floor, but its ok for a 1 night stay. The hotel is just beside the main road which is easily been found.

Room Tip: Try to book the room on the 1st floor facing the garden at the back side of the hotel. You will feel...
