“Challenging trail, be careful in rain”

Cameron Highlands Trail No. 9
Reviewed November 8, 2013

I walked on this trail in rainy weather. The trail had some tough obstacles like fallen trees. Don't go alone and consider only going to the falls. If you go further, the path becomes difficult. I like a challenge but this trail was scary in places and breaking your leg could ruin a nice trip. Path from the road to the falls is OK and well worth the short walk. Be careful if you go further though.

The trail starts off nice with good walking paths but after you have passed the Robinson waterfall it gets progressively trickier. We went with trail 9b as it was supposed to be an easier decline, but there were a lot of fallen trees which made it difficult. Towards the end off the trail it got really hard and it also started to rain. Luckily a friendly hiker had put up a sign pointing to an exit as the last 300 meteres were said to be extremely hard in rain so we ended up on a vegetable farm. We took a cab back to Tanah Rata which cost us 20 rm as it was over 10km. Our recommendation would be to just go back once you get to the little metal gate that splits the trail into 9a and 9b.

Nice and easy walk past Parit falls. Unfortunately, wicker bridge over the falls is broken and not accessible. Continue to walk past Strawberry Farms, All Souls Church and Golf Course to Brinchang.

Water fall is quite nice to see, after that it's rather long walk without any particular highlights. After the veggie farm a steep ascent leads back to the beginning. Good exercise, but nothing extroadinary.

Thank fortic
