“Good view but average food”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

We were stuck in the rain after visiting Cameron Highlands Resort so decided to have a late lunch here (which is just opp CHR). We had the exotic chicken curry, mee mamak (essentially mee goreng) and kway teow soup. Nothing exotic about the curry but it was edible. The kway teow soup was very home-cooked (read: I can cook perhaps a better one myself at home). The mee goreng was good though, packed with flavour.

Being stuck in the rain, we were just glad to have some hot soup to warm our tummies with. The cafe overlooks the golf course so good view while eating.

We went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Eggs for RM 3 and a view which was breathtaking. Excellent food, great service and cheap cheap cheap!

“Do try the steamboat!”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

We were staying at the Cameron Highlands Resort and having read the positive reviews of the Golfer's Cafe, we decided to give it a try. Twice in fact. Good food, good service and good views. On our second night we tried "The Steamboat" and what an experience that was. The lady in charge, cooked and served our meal at our table and talked us through what everything was. As with most of Malaysia, beer and wine prices are quite high, but not the food. Really good value.
Well worth trying the local food to ensure the freshness and not relying on western "fast food".

“Not excellent at all.”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

After reading the positive reviews & high recommendations thought I'd try out the place for lunch. View was really nice; overlooking the golf course and the hills. The attendants were okay, rather friendly.

But the rest.., not good. Not good at all.
Service was very slow, we received our order after 50minutes of waiting; and by the time we got them, they were all cold, like it had been sitting there for a while. Even my hot chocolate (RM3) was more like warm chocolate. And it wasn't even peak lunch hour-we got there at 2.15pm. Another table (a group of 8) that came in15minutes after us received their food even before us-piping hot, and the rest the same time as ours.

We had the lamb chop (RM18), chicken chop (RM16) and seafood marinara pasta (RM15). The pasta was overcooked. The lamb was chewy & burnt, not much meat, rather full of fat. The chicken chop's gravy was very salty. The fries that came with them both was supermarket frozen fries and was very oily. And the 'seafood marinara' consisted of 3-4 baby shrimp & fish balls & fish cake.

Makes me wonder which part is the 'excellent' part.
