Not our best experience!! The hotel requires a full refurbishment urgently as the rooms were dates, carpets worn and needed cleaning, stained bedding and curtains and the bathroom not very clean.
On check in only trainees attended to everyone when we checked in and unfortunately not knowledgeable about what to do and see around the area.
Breakfast was ok and quite a large selection.

Room Tip: Ask if they have been refurbished

Nothing worth mentioning about. Some negative points include staffs who cannot converse well in English, and no bath towels in room when we checked in. Positives points are the location of hotel, secluded but not too far from main street and the beautiful Tudor style design of the hotel.

Stayed one night in this hotel. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the village which is a plus point as it is quieter. I had asked for a room facing the mountain ( took advice from other reviews on line ) & was so glad that we got it - ivews were amazing & it was lovely to arrive just before it got dark & sit & relax watching it get dark.

The rooms are a good size & are clean but are quite dated. The only Wifi was in the reception & this seemed to get over loaded when many people were using it. The hotel appears to be used by many tour companies & it does seem to be aimed at this market. The breakfast was great, very varied - fruit, eggs cooked as you wanted them, noodles, rice, cakes etc.

As we were not leaving until the late afternoon & had booked a half day tour, we asked if we could use the room until 6pm & asked about the day rate. This caused issues as none of the receptionists knew how it much cost & didn't appear to want to sell it to us. In the end, the receptionist suggested that it was ok for us to leave our bags in our room until 1pm ( an hour after check out ) & pick them up when we got back from the tour. This was great & meant that we didn't have to part with any extra cash.

On our return post the tour, we had afternoon tea for two in the Tea Lounge. This was amazing value for money & the scones were great.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view.

Check-in was slow but done politely..Got a room at new wing. It's a family room (2 queen-sized bed) with balcony and breath-taking view. View from my bed was extremely pretty and relaxing. Large bathroom with a bath tub and standing shower.

After relaxing for an hour, decided to have a walk around the hotel. Reached ground floor and the first thing that caught my eye is the fish pond. Large and beautiful koi fish.. A child playroom not far from there. Prefect for my girls to spend their lazy afternoon there while i decided to try their tea set at Tea Lounge (just situated opposite the playroom so i can keep an eye on them) Tea Set @ RM13nett for 2 scones and tea. Scones is a must while you are in Cameron but here is definitely the best scone in town! Besides,i'd noticed a laundry room!! It's really relaxing sitting and exploring around the area. We tried Kampung Fried Rice and Oxtail Soup at Rain Forest Cafe. Both also delicious especially the Oxtail Soup, with a very familiar taste which reminded me of the soup i'd taste many many years ago at Miner's Arm, Ipoh. Thank you Chef for bringing back my childhood memories. At night we have our dinner at Jasmine Restaurant, a chinese restaurant under the hotel as well. Steamboat ( clear soup and tom yam) The portion was just right and it's great especially during such cold weather.

Breakfast spread was very nice. Food was delicious.

I'll definitely return....

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. At first we were very worried on the negative reviews that we read. But we were delighted with the service and the room, the staff were very friendly and the room was clean and big. Even we are happy with breakfast provided.

A couple of friends and I did a weekend trip, and we stayed here for a night. We got deluxe rooms at the new wing, and they came with balconies attached. The balcony overlooked the hills, so it was a nice little bonus for us. The rooms at the new wings are fairly well maintained and clean, but the rest of the hotel does look a little tired. The hotel is located up on the hill, about 10 -15 mins walk away from the main part of Tanah Rata. It is great for those who prefer to be away from the noise of traffic, and don't mind a short walk uphill. The view makes up for the slightly removed location. The service was okay - no complaints during our stay. Food was average - the usual you would expect from a hotel in this category. The downside of this hotel is that there is wifi only in the lobby, and the rest of the hotel isn't as well maintained/clean. This hotel also caters to big tour groups, so sometimes, so there may also be hoards of tourists at the lobby during certain times of the day.

Overall, a satisfactory stay. Not much to complain about, but nothing that really blows my mind away either. For the amount that we paid, this is a value-for-money stay, and I may consider coming back here just for a short and affordable getaway.
