“Great local comforting food!”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

For those who crave for local simple kopitiam food, Uncle Chow served all the comfort local dishes. I love their piping hot curry laksa. Their bubur gandum ( Mak chuk) which is a dessert of wheat with coconut milk & bubur pulut hitam ( Hak Lo Mai) another dessert of black glutinous rice with coconut milk was delicious! Their chicken ham & tuna sandwich and mushroom omelette was good too. It's quite confusing to get to the place , just turn left at the1st junction after you pass the food court & HSBC bank ( on your left) at Tanah Rata , follow the signboard, at the end of the road, turn right, pass some apartment, then left when you see the signboard, 2nd road on the right, the shop is at the end corner. They also have WIFI available. Uncle Chow is a warm & friendly host, you'll enjoy chatting with him if he is not busy :)

“A gem in the mountains”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Uncle Chow is quite hidden from the most of the eateries but that itself gives a charm to this family style kopitiam run by a retired couple. Uncle is in the front serving customers providing all the hospitality he has learned from his previous job before retiring, while aunty is busy preparing lovely home cooked food from the back kitchen. Great place to be at for breakfast and lunch. Not rushed, not to busy and the atmosphere is just right for a place to sit, relax, have some good food and chill!!
Keep up the good work Uncle

“A good place for breakfast”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

This place has the feel of Chinese traditional coffee shop with its marble tables and stools. The place is very clean and warm.

We had "nasi lemak" (with chicken rendang, half boiled egg, papadum, fried anchovies with peanuts, and cucumbers), curry laksa and hot "teh tarik". If you order the curry laksa, ask for koay teow curry laksa. The koay teow is very smooth and delicious. We love both the "nasi lemak" and curry laksa as they were not very spicy. The "teh tarik" were not too sweet and "bubbled".

This is a good place for breakfast.

“the food was ok and a bit pricey”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

We had a hard time finding the place, the sign was dropped half way and we took a while to find it. It is located amongst some apartments. The kopitiam was nicely done up, the food was also well presented however we felt that it was a little pricey compared to the other outlets in Cameron Highlands.

“Uncle Chow - An Excellent Host”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

The food is delicious. The restaurant is clean. But what makes it excellent is the hospitality of a thoughtful man named Uncle Chow. Highly recommended!
