“Great Cooking”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Lovely food at the Bell Inn. Chef James knows his stuff - the waitress informed me that James cooked for a while at Buckingham Palace, and it shows in the overall presentation of his meals - just beautiful. Meals we had included a Richmond pie and Tuna mayo Ciabatta. The pie in particluar was really superb - puff pastry formed and cooked inside a presentation ring, filled with meaty buttery shitake mushrooms, chesnuts and walnuts all enveloped in a creamy sauce full of hearty flavours. This was served with green beans and baby carrots that were artfully stacked(The Palace attention to detail, one guesses) and fat homemade chips, again arranged in a small tower. Truthfully one of the best meals I have eaten in the last two years. Well done James, you cooking is excellent!!

This was the last stop of a Road Trip on Quads around Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Wiltshire. Two mates 600 miles on quads what a lovely stop off. The landlord and landlady Gary and Louise - superb hosts. Room was clean, light and airy. Lovely beer garden at the rear. Food excellent - I had Prawn and Crab cocktail, and Calves Liver and bacon I couldn't manage dessert (too full) although there was a good choice. Friendly local welcome and as Quad Bikers, we met some fellow riders -Great finish to our trip. Worth a stop off if you are in the area

Room Tip: Only a small number of rooms, best to book to avoid losing out

Gary, mine host, gave us a very warm welcome and we could see that the Inn was very clean and that customer service mattered. Our bedroom was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower/washroom also spotless and plenty of towels and washcloths. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast first class. Although justy a quick overnight stay, this Inn was well worth it and very well run.

Chosen from the internet, not many places offering good accomodation in the environs of Earlestoke. Room clean and tidy, comfortable bed, clean en-suite. Peaceful room. Ecellent breakfast and the restaurant food was more than you could eat. W"ould return and would also recommend to friends

Talking to the manageress at the bar over a couple of drinks she looked stunning ,
But she refused to put any makeup on when I asked her for breakfast at 07.00 in the morning,
My overall impression of the Bell Inn I can only say the management and staff are the best in the business when it comes to customer satisfaction, Being an ex landlord myself I know how hard it can be in the pub trade today,
I would recommend the Bell Inn to anyone looking for an ideal place to stay
