Initially planned to stay for one night to visit Blenheim Palace but found this place so comfortable and inviting we decided to stay an extra night.
Decided to try this venue on the fact that it is a 400 year old coaching Inn, well I can only praise the people who converted this property into what it is today! What a beautiful place!
Rooms very well appointed with every thing you could wish for.
The staff were very attentive and made you feel thoroughly at home, nothing seemed too much trouble!
The food was pretty close to exceptional considering the size of the hotel, the staff were wonderful, enquiring how our day had gone and if we had enjoyed ourselves etc, this made having our evening meal a very pleasant experience, it was this that made us book the extra night.
The breakfast menu was amazing, so much choice!
We can only say thank you for a very pleasant experience.

We stayed in a room with good heating & comfy bed meant we had a really good night sleep and were ready for next day's sightseeing. Excellent breakfast - we were surprised by so much choice and many variations, food was made to order. Wonderful! We also ate dinner at the bar as the restaurant was fully booked but the food was still delicious. Very pleasant stay and would recommend to others.

I stayed for a works party at blenheim palace. I only stayed one night, so didn't really see much of the room. The room was very big with a comfy bed and the bathroom had nice modern fittings. The best thing about my stay was the breakfast in the morning. a wide selection of food and a sit down service, staff are friendly and service is quick.

We stayed here a couple of nights, the rooms were adequate, although the bathroom was average. There was no hair dryer of telephone. Paying 90 pounds a night, I would expect basic am entities such as a hair dryer should be provided. In the positive great breakfast in the morning and nice to have the convenience of the hotel to dine in each night with their good value meals

Found this hotel by chance on the internet when looking for a stopover for a weekend in Portsmouth. What a find. The hotel has bags of character, feels like a castle, lovely warm open fireplaces, the staff provide faultless service, bedrooms are really good and the restaurant serves Michelin star food. The breakfast menu is extensive and the full English was superb. What a way to start of a weekend away. Will definitely go there again.
