£80 a night is not great value for this B&B
Should be more like 50.
Bedroom in good condition but the bathroom was poor/dated and they didn't supply fresh towels for day 2.

The breakfast was excellent.

We ate at the pub both evenings, food was excellent quality & reasonable value. Staff struggled with numbers, but the kitchen was fast and consistent.
Highly rec food.

Been going here over the past 40 years, lovely preserved old pub, nice decor, good selection of beers and wine. My friend and I ordered beef stir fry which was superb, tasty and well presented. I went for the cheese board and I must say it was the largest and tastiest selection I have ever had. The creme brulee was nice according to my friend. The staff were all pleasant, polite and attentive, not east to find but worth the effort. Sat in the garden in the sunshine, what a great experience.

We went walking at Uffington White Horse, Castle Waylands Smithy and passed the pub on the way there. It looked nice so we went afterwards. Looks great inside (wooden beams etc...), but we were out in the subshine at the back, in the beautiful well tended garden (I know, sunshine ? - I've lost some of you already !). The staff were very freindly and smiled throughout (I read through some of the negative reviews and did not recognise them). We were not that hungry, so just had starters, which were pricey, but very good quality. Nothing was left. It was a very relaxing afternoon which just finished the day off nicely. If I go to the White Horse again, I'll certainly pop in again (hopefully, somebody else will be driving)...

Whilst camping with friends nearby we visited the White Horse twice. The hospitality was evident from the moment we walked through the door. The food was very nicely prepared and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Someone had also obviously spent a lot of time and effort in maintaining the beautiful garden with it's abundance of flora. The children with us were made to feel very welcome (even if they were a little noisy).
Will definitely be eating at the White Horse next time we are in the area.

We stayed for 2 nights in April, lovely atmospheric Pub, reasonable Room rates.
The Owner & Staff very friendly & helpful ( he even drove us to the next Village Pub in Uffington so we could meet up with Friends)
Food a Tad expensive, but good Quality.

Just returned from the most dreadful meal ever!

Grilled plaice with sooo many bones it was unbelievable, steamed veg perfectly cooked but stone cold. Chips were hot but hardly enough to fill anyone up!

Haddock and chips, again ok but small portions.

£35 for two - total rip off!!

We live locally, such a shame we will not be visiting again!

The four bay windows and steeply pitched gables give the freshly painted stone and timber exterior almost a chalet look. Inside, there's no mistaking the typical countryside pub: huge oak beams supporting a low celing, stone floor, large fireplace, and rustic furniture. The rooms in an adjacent annex are quite spacious and have been recently remodeled. The large bath and a large closet are located in a loft; not the ideal layout, but manageable. The full English breakfast is well prepared. Dinner on New Year's Eve featured an entire roast hog with all the trimmings, and a duck pate appetizer on another occasion was fabulously delicious. All of the food is prepared on the premises. Keith and the staff are friendly and helpful.
