“Very good but...”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

The food was delicious! The service was very good! But do not go in a hurry, because we spent almost 7 hours there! They serve the food little by little, so it takes forever. We enjoyed it because of the good food and good company, and the place is really nice. But it took too many hours for the whole thing! IMPORTANT: bathrooms have no privacy. The Men's and Women's are just a little room with a toilet and basin and are next to each other, and close to one of the restaurant's tables. And worst of all, the doors do not go all the way up nor all the way down, and they are of a thin wood. Anybody can look under the door (any child, for example) or over the door, and can hear whatever you are doing inside. So you better not get diarrhea over there!

“Also known as Vida Ventura, this is one of the best restaurants in Puerto Rico”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Please see my review under Vida Ventura.
This is an 1800s restored farmhouse about 2 hours' drive west of San Juan in the Central Highlands of Puerto Rico. Cooler weather, wonderful views, and the big surprise: An awesome 6-hour long prix fixe luncheon, designed with local ingredients as they become available and put together very creatively by chef Ventura Vivoni. A leisurely eight course lunch will put you in the unique situation of being simultaneously stuffed AND wanting to eat more.
Note - the luncheon includes a tour of the grounds coupled with a lengthy lecture on the island's history and politics by the chef's father. While interesting, it is very long - opt out if you are going with friends and want time to share with them.
This is a must go, if you live in PR, and perhaps even a single reason for visiting this island.

“WOW!”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

This is an absolutely wonderful place to spend the day! I went with a group of locals from the Mayaguez area. Upon arrival we were treated to a delicious cocktail and a tour of the finca's gardens. We then sat down to a long leisurely meal. Every course was made from fresh, local and homemade ingredients by the very talented Chef Ventura Vivoni. After dinner we went to the main house for coffee and stories of the history of the beautiful home. I have lived in PR for six years and have to say this was one of my best days on the island!!

“Great and delicious Christmas season family outing”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

Traveled to Puerto Rico to see my family and decided to gather them, per a friend's suggestion at the Hacienda Luz De Luna, chef Ventura Vivoni's restaurant in the mountains of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. His father, Edric Vivoni, greeted us with a ginger sangría, a tour of their coffee plantation and stories galore. His mother, Luz Rivera de Vivoni, handled the business side of the half-day long visit. (We arrived at noon, after a couple of hours on the road from San Juan, and stay until past 5pm.)

The food was creative and delicious. Thoughtfully and beautifully presented. After a series of tasty hors d'oeuvres, we had many Puerto Rican staples, each presented with "molecular" flair and details. My husband and I are vegetarian and they were able to accommodate our requests. The prix fix was $75, which would be on the high side for a country restaurant in Puerto Rico, but is completely understandable given the number of dishes, duration of the meal and the sophistication and detailed attention that accompanied each dish and the meal in general. The charismatic chef came out each time to explain each dish, the ingredients for which all come from nearby farms and ports. They included a deconstructed root vegetable soup, an arroz con gandules topped with capitan fish, a yuca and pumpkin "pastel" topped with pulled pork (roasted eggplant for the vegetarians), and "arroz con dulce" arancini balls in coconut cream and crumbs, local cheeses,
"cidra" paste and "jobo" jam/ They also have a less expensive kids meal, which in our case included chicken, rice and plantains. The sorbet making with liquid nitrogen was a big hit with kids and adults alike. Do make sure you set aside the whole day!
