“Unique Experience”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

My sister and I went to a 1:00 PM, Saturday, seating at the Vida Ventura, AKA Luz de Luna. This was my second meal with the Vivoni's. We were blown away the first time we went and the second time was just as good. This is not just a meal but a culinary experience. There were about 30 guests at our seating but it did not feel crowded. We dined on their veranda after a meet & greet and tour of the property with Mr. Vivoni. The atmosphere is very welcoming, family oriented and personal. Guests are served seven courses, each with an explanation from the chef, Ventura Vivoni. I highly recommend this restaurant. I liked the daytime seating because during the drive up into the mountains we were able to enjoy the awesome scenery and navigate the curvy roads more easily. Also, when making a reservation, talk to them about getting an English speaking experience. We were the only non Spanish speaking people at the diner so we missed the descriptions of the food by the Chef. Because I went before two years prior when it was presented in English, I know that the descriptions of each course enhance the dining experience. You can BYOB with a corking fee. The price of the meal was substantial, at about $75.00 pp plus service charges. I added a bit more tip and it rounded up to $200.00 for two people. Not cheap but worth the experience at least one time.

“A very unique experience”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This past weekend we went to Hacienda Luz de Luna in Adjuntas (mountanous region about 2 hour drive from SJ). It was serving a 10 course menu for $75 and though I had heard good things about the place, I really didn't know exactly what to expect. Usually people's recommendations are center more around the food and one asks few questions about the experince as a whole.
It would be unfair to say anything bad of our day at Hacienda Luz de Luna, however I think it is very important to be aware that this is a full day excursion if your homebase is San Juan. The seating is scheduled at 1 (need reservations, otherwise you dont get in) and you leave the place at 7:30ish. So expect to leave SJ at 11 am (2 hour drive) and get back at 9:30ish or consider staying nearby. Casa Grande is a good option nearby.
With that said I must say that all 10 plates served were delicious. We were nicely impressed with the flavors and the food presentation. I would have enjoyed a bit more variety though. Most of our plates were meat and starch based (as most PuertoRican food is) and perhaps fish, a salad or some vegetables would have balanced the meal a bit more (and make it a bit lighter) It was a lot of excellent food, which provides excellent value and adds to the overall experience. Both Ventura and Edrick are incredibly hospitable people that makes the experience absolutely worthwhile. The Vivonis have done something admirable in Adjuntas and we commend them for that. I know places like this are in for the long term...well run, brilliant food and hospitality give this place 5 STARS!!!!

“Absolutely Incredible”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

By far the best thing we did while in Puerto Rico, the food was magical and we were made to feel very at home (despite our poor Spanish) and had the best possible day at Hacienda Luz de Luna

“Best gastronomic experience in Puerto Rico. Hands down.”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

Vida Ventura Restaurarte is a place to experience more than just food. Yes, the food is magnificent, the service is outstanding...but the ambiance, the historic location, the walkthroughs along the property and the interactive dialogues with the owners makes this a "must-do" experience for anyone who loves culinary arts and history as well. The location is captivating, beautiful. Chef Vivoni's talent is extraordinary. The service of their team is flawless. Vivoni Sir, on the other hand, will provide the historyc element of the experience, and at the end of the day you'll fell like in your own house and will not want to go...was it the sangria? Amazing experience. Will definitely return. Put it on top of your list.
