Spent the night here and enjoyed the experience just as much as before. Fairly quiet(Tuesday)but for the excitement of the chimney sweep! Beer was on form and the food was superb- Ox Cheek Bourguignon with mashed potato just melted in the mouth . The room was excellent and the bill reasonable. By the way, those who complain about the locals forget that they are the ones who keep the money coming in during the winter months come snow, hail ,rain; unfortunately there was a bit of a shortage so I had to resort to reading the paper. The young lady serving (Olivia) deserves commendation for her immaculate customer skills; quite a rarity these days.
Keep up the good standards!!

Room Tip: Room 2 overlooks the Windmill and the Vale of Oxford

Travelling home we decided to stop for lunch on the way. From outside The Pheasant Inn looks like just an ordinary pub, but what a delight when we stepped inside. The decor is much like a bistro with a large bar to accomodate those who just want a drink. We found the menu suitable for light bites or full lunch at reasonable prices. Our pleasant waitress served the food promptly even though it was busy for a Monday, which we appreciated. The food was delicious and the steak was very tender. I would have preferred more vegetables, but that is just a personal choice. The desserts were huge and very tasty. The choice of good wines were also sensibly prices for such a lovely venue. We would like to return when the weather would allow us to sit outside to really take in the fantastic vista. Having been told that they offer bed and breakfast we viewed the well furnished spotless accomodation, so we have no excuss!!

Good, if expensive food, and always reassuring to find a place that sells quality local beer. However, if they want to attract more regular repeat trade they could start by hiding the bar stools that the current ‘regulars’ sit on, engulfing the bar. This makes it difficult for any visitor to get served and is far from welcoming. It’s a shame that the pub allows this small group of old men to have such an influence as all they need to do is go and sit at one of the tables. I pass through Brill quite regularly but I think I’ll leave this place to its ‘regulars’.

Well run establishment with reasonably priced good quality food - well worth a visit if you are in the area. Outside dining with a view of the restored Brill Windmill makes dining al fresco worthwhile.

Had some hours to myself (for a change) while No3 son was on a course locally and was recommended by those running the course to come here for lunch. They were spot on! The pub is very light and airy with a magnificent view and with a very welcoming atmosphere. It has decking outside on which you can enjoy the views. Glad I got there early as it got pretty busy with what appeared to be repeat custom despite being a Tuesday. That alone indicates a good recommendation.
Best of all the staff where very happy in their work and very pleasant with out being overbearing in anyway. I loved the banter between the landlord and his regulars! I had a very enjoyable time with a well kept pint and Caesar salad followed by coffee and allowed the time to read a broadsheet. Civilisation at it’s best!

Stayed here for two nights on business. What a find! The rooms are much better than one might expect in a country pub, being spacious, very well appointed and quite luxurious. The bed was supremely comfortable. The bathroom was large and equipped with quality fittings and lashings of hot water. Beer selection was adequate, with two regularly changing guest ales and was well kept. I didn't try it but the Wine Selection looked interesting and reasonably priced.
Dinner menu was varied and quality good. The young ladies serving were smartly dressed and very friendly and for once there were sufficient staff to ensure efficiency. The locals ,by the way were very friendly and quite happy to involve me in their conversation and general banter.Breakfast was fine but I agree with a previous comment about the need for a wider selection of cereals.
All in all this really is a good Inn to visit, and the views are spectacular!

Room Tip: I had the room at the back overlooking the windmill.

We stayed at the Pheasant for our Golden Wedding Anniversary (having travelled up from Devon) and the wonderful staff made it an event to remember. They put on a superb buffet lunch for our 30 guests and couldn't have been more helpful. My Wife and I stayed for 3 days and the room was very clean and comfortable with super views of the countryside (and the windmill). The full english breakfast was excellent and really sets you up for the day but I would like to see a wider range of cereals though. I thoroughly recommend this Inn..

Room Tip: Ask for the room overlooking the windmill
