Stayed here 2 nights in one of the bedrooms in the cottage attached to the pub- a great idea as one doesn't get happy pubbers' noise and the traffic from the country road outside is not too heavy. The terrace at the back of the inn has a super outlook over the countryside. The bedroom we stayed in was a good size with all the usual facilities and good colours/linen etc. Though there were sign of odd bits of the bathroom etc. needing some refurb., there was a painter starting work in the next bedroom, so obviously the oweners are well aware of this.
The breakfast was good with excellent fruit compote etc., and cooked English, served by a really friendly Romanian girl. We had dinners on 2 nights- both o.k., except that the fishcakes were rather lacking fish and were expensive. We wouldn't go just for the food, as it was rather ordinary , lots of chips with everything. The dining-areas are full of character, as it's an old building and not been too modernised.
Would we go again- probably !?More
