It wasn't very busy when we had lunch. Service was excellent: welcoming and professional. Would have been happy to choose anything from the set lunch (£13/17 for 2/3 courses). Interesting starter with hummus lamb and pine nuts, crab cake more ordinary. Outstanding Thai style noodle dish with chinese-spiced pork—superficially like a noodle bar but in a different league for quality and flavour from any I've eaten at. Fish and chips more ordinary. (That's a 2-nil victory in the spousal ordering stakes.) Brilliant cheesecake garnished with fresh strawberry, ice cream and coulis (not just syrupy gunk). Good, fragrant coffee. They asked how the meal had been and when we said the plaice and chips had been less than perfect (it's not a good time of year for chips), they didn't charge for the coffee (Unexpected. we hadn't complained, just answered.) Well worth seeking out, a couple of miles N of Thame.

Room Tip: Oops. I seem to have found the B&B bit, but this review applies to the restaurant only.

The location of this pub/b&b is idylic, a piece of unspoilt England. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Food is good but not fine dining. The evening we dined here as a party of five the waiting staff were a little stretched, therefore the service suffered. However I would come back.

I had a lovely stay at the mole and chicken. The 'mushroom' room had a lovely terrace and the room was spacious and well decorated. The views from the room were picturesque oxfordshire countryside. The service was friendly and really helpful and the breakfast was utterly delicious. We ate one dinner in the restaurant. It was a tad expensive but really tasty, apart from the steak which was disappointing. The rest of the food was delicious.

We had a lovely night away at the Mole and Chicken to quietly mark my 40th birthday. Drinks on the terrace in the afternoon, admiring the wonderful views and then a lovely dinner in the cosy restaurant was just perfect. The room we stayed in was very tastefully decorated and the view of the barn and sheep from the window seemed a million miles from my view at home!
Thank you very much for the warm welcome. Julie and Chris Small

Only had lunches here, however, they are superb! Great service, wonderful, varied menu.
Good place to stay for visiting Buckinghamshire and even for Oxford, thus avoiding the bustle of Oxford at night.
