Description: The Mole and Chicken is a picturesque, ivy-covered country pub and restaurant in Easington near Long Crendon that is renowned for its Sunday roasts and superb views of the surrounding Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside. The country-cottage-chic interior is all chocolate brown and tan leather seats, whitewashed walls and designer fabrics, and the kitchen at The Mole and Chicken uses seasonal ingredients to create their moreish Mediterranean/British menu. We highly recommend the BBQ belly pork ribs; chilli fried baby squid with garlic, lemon and olive oil; and the devilled kidneys on toast. Enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave? You don't have to, just book one of the five boutique bedrooms located next door!

“The best Christmas Lunch ever?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

Just come back from having I think the best Christmas Lunch ever! Everything was cooked to perfection, delicious turkey, beautifully crunchy roast potatoes. Apple tart tatin with christmas pudding ice cream, a little sweet for my wife, but I loved it!
I'd definitely return here, and our friend's thought it equally good. Great to eat in a place that takes the trouble to get things right.

“Good food in a cosy, informal restaurant.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

A charming informal, cosy country restaurant, naturally divided into several predominantly intimate eating areas. There is a balanced, imaginative and tantalising a la carte menu, but on this occasion we selected the Christmas Menu. I started with a well seasoned and constructed rillette and my wife with a cream of celeriac soup with truffle oil. I went onto a lean and tender minute steak Diane with chips and a green salad and my wife enjoyed a confit of duck leg. We found room for desserts; my wife having a generous bowl of honeycomb ice cream while I enjoyed an apple tarte tatin with 'mince pie' ice cream; novel! All dishes were very good. We enjoyed a decent bottle of Macon Uchizy, and I also had a large glass of a rather good Argentianian Malbec. As regular diners at the Mole and Chicken we knew the waitresses who were as always, friendly, efficient and unintrusive. They were particularly understanding in ensuring we were seated well away from a large office party; one of the risks of eating out at this time of the year. At £96.00 before service the meal was not inexpensive, and the a la carte would have been noticeably more. However the other positive aspects of this restaurant just about justify the price at the upper end of acceptable value.

“Petite & Perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

We visited this delightful country pub with friends who dine here regularly. Set out in a number of small rooms, with knobbly pine tables, the atmosphere is warm and inviting – but no more so than the excellent range of real ales at the bar. The food is beautifully-prepared, ranging from traditional English dishes to creative house specialities. The wines are remarkably affordable. Overall, it well deserves its recent high ratings. My wifes’s opinion was, simply, “lovely”.

“Nice warm pub, fantastic food with a welcoming smile :0)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

We booked for my brothers birthday meal after reading about the pub on Tripadviser. It was brilliant. Nice and warm, friendly atmosphere on entrance. Good service and fantastic food. The plates could've done with being a bit hotter as the meal was quite cold before finishing. We will definitely be back for another meal and would recommend it to anybody.
