“Perfection”
Reviewed October 17, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

A beautifully appointed cottage, the best equipped we have ever stayed in.clean, cosy, comfortable and lovely and warm with radiators and fire.good wi if and tv signal.plenty of hot water, fluffy towels, comfy bed.
Clare has thought of everything you might need and the welcome basket is lovely to find after a long drive...we had fresh bacon and egg sandwiches Clare had even remembered the butter!
The remote control blind in the bedroom keeps a gadget man happy!!. The cottage looks smaller on the photos, but is like a tardis once instead with upstairs rooms of very good size.even has coffee machine so don't forget your beans!.
Holy island is appx 30 mins away,Alnwick 10 mins away with a sainsburys, aldi and petrol station with co op.
Craster has a lovely fish restaurant.also 20 min walk along beach to Newton which also has a nice pub.embleton itself has a small shop, and an Italian that does a good lunch deal..take a look in the church which is lovely inside.
Really enjoyed our stay and we'll done to Clare...have paid a lot more for previous cottages in Scotland who didn't even provide a welcome tray!!

“Perfect base for exploring beautiful coast”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

A really comfortable property in the centre of Embleton. Clare thought of everything for our comfort including the best ever welcome pack that even included a treat for our dog. There is a good and diverse selection of local pubs but our favourite was the Greys Inn because it was so enormously dog friendly. We loved the area - absolutely beautiful and the cottage is close to the sandy beach with its splendid view of Dunstanburgh castle and coastal walk to Craster. We spent the entire week finding new walks - there is so much to see and so much wildlife. We will certainly be coming back!

“Poppy Cottage is a perfectly equipped Northumberland gem.”
Reviewed September 12, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Very prettily decorated and furnished, Poppy Cottage is the most welcoming holiday bolt hole.
The accommodation is surprisingly flexible and is equipped with absolutely everything needed for an enjoyable holiday in a beautiful county. The welcome pack is second to none. Nearby pubs provide excellent meals and there is plenty of additional space for safe parking nearby in the village.

“Lovely cottage in a wonderful place”
Reviewed August 30, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have just returned from a lovely 2 weeks in Poppy Cottage.

The cottage is spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The welcome pack was lovely and our girls (7 and 5) loved their gifts. Whilst the accommodation is compact we found it spacious enough and even fitted our 4 bikes under the stairs.

Embleton is a lovely base for exploring Northumberland. There is a well equipped play park, several pubs, a village store/post office and one of the most beautiful beaches I've had the pleasure to visit! If you like going for a jog then the coast path between Embleton and Craster is great, my usual morning runs are going to be such a let down after that. There are so many lovely places to visit near by, we hadn't nearly managed to do it all in 2 weeks and our girls had a lovely time and were sad to leave.

Poppy Cottage, Embleton and Northumberland in general are all highly recommended!

“Superb place to stay - highly recommended”
Reviewed August 15, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This little cottage is ideally placed in the centre of a lovely village with a dedicated parking bay. The whole place is spotless and kitted out to a very high standard. Everything you could think of was provided and the welcome pack was a lovely touch providing an array of yummy goodies so you can easily settle in. A little gem of a holiday home!

“Fantastic cottage our second visit”
Reviewed July 27, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Clare has a fantastic cottage in agreat location. A short walk to stunning beaches plus a couple of decent pubs nearby make this the ideal base for exploring the Northumberland Coast and towns.
The little touches of a fantastic welcome basket plus a gift for each of my daughters (which they recieved with glee) all adds to what is already a welcoming home from home.
We will defiantly return and have already recommended to family and friends.
