Having just returned from a much needed weeks rest, I thought I would drop you a line to thank you and all your staff for giving Kathryn and Alastair such a marvelous reception.

Thankfully the rain held off - someone was looking down on us because guests coming from all over the country commented on the heavy rain they had driven through. I think we left a good collection of umbrellas with you !

Many guests commented on the excellent quality of the menu together with the standard of service.

A most enjoyable day.

Sincere thanks.
Mike Townshend

We stayed at this lovely country house hotel for two nights 10th September. On arrival we were greeted extremely warmly by Helen at the front desk. We had booked a special package which included dinner, bed and breakfast and afternoon tea on the first day. As we had arrived at 1.30 p.m having had no lunch we decided to have an early afternoon tea. This was served in the lovely bright dining room. We asked for a table by the window which overlooked the gardens. The afternoon tea was excellent, plenty of delicious fresh sandwiches, soft scores with cream and jam, followed by an abundance of delicious pastries. Our waiter was very attentive asking us whether we wanted more tea etc.
Our room was on the second floor No.215 this overlooked part car park and gardens. The room had all the amenities you would expect of a 4 star hotel. Lovely room.
Dinner in the evening was excellent with a good variety of choices. Again the waitress/waiters were friendly and attentive. The food on both nights was amazing.
We would recommend this hotel 100%. And look forward to staying here again in the near future.

We were visiting from overseas and so we had conducted considerable research into the hotel prior to booking. Fortunately we were not disappointed! We found the surroundings very relaxing, good food, very helpful staff (especially with advice on booking our trip to Windsor). The room certainly exceeded our expectations, was comfortable and well resourced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: we stayed in one of the room on the ground floor, which had a door opening onto the beautiful ground...

Booked in here as we were attending a wedding near by. Went for the deluxe bedroom, at a premium cost, which turned out to be quite small, and missing anything which I would describe as deluxe.

No food is offered after 10pm. Just cold sandwiches.

The breakfast is a buffet affair. With the following on offer: anaemic sausages, grey sludge which i was informed was scrambled egg and bacon which looked revolting.

The finish the experience off, whilst checking out there were a number of angry guests waiting to be seen by the police. Apparently a number of rooms had been broken into and wallets, iPads etc stolen.

My recommendation would be to avoid this place

We had two rooms on Sept 7th and an iPad was stolen from one room and a purse from the other. Four or five other rooms suffered similar burglaries. What all the guests had in common was the fact that they were at a wedding two miles away. There was no sign of forced entry so we and the police assumed that a key had been used. We found out that this has happened before and this is confirmed by two Trip Advisor reports on this page date July 30th and 31st. We ar e happy to report that the mangers waived the room hire costs for us.

Recently held my parents 40th wedding anniversary here and what a fantastic venue, the whole family have been raving about it since. The Duty Manager a guy named Stewart was superb he laid on arrival drinks in the lounge for us and made me and my family feel so welcome. The food was to die for and the service was very good. I didn't stay but my parents and some of my family did and they said the only downside was the fact that the rooms were slightly too warm, other than that they said the breakfast was very good and that if they were in the area again for another family party we would be using the Grovefield again.

Room Tip: A room on the ground floor with door onto garden
