We wanted to escape the city for 3 days and fully disconnect from the all the noise and fuss and so we found this hidden jewelry between the hills. The house is warm and welcoming, the surroundings quiet and great to walk around, the hosts are just charming and lovely. I couldn't find a better place to lose ourselves and refill with energy. Its the lack of things that remind you that we are in the 21'st century that is the most beneficial thing about this place: no TV, no Internet, no plastic and no modern fittings... you travel back in time and you enjoy the pace and serenity our grandparents used to enjoy in a Sunday afternoon 70 years ago...:)

I can't wait to return in summer time to enjoy the nature and Mihaela's great food and coffee!!!

Room Tip: We were there in a rainy and chilly weekend of March, and the room was a little bit cold in the firs...

We only stayed one night because they were fully booked for the weekend.. truffle hunting! great shame as we could have stayed a week.
The casa is in a rural community so an early morning walk is with the cows being taken to the fields.
The food is simple and good, the patrons are helpful and full of advice.
We walked in the evening to a charcoal maker and returned with the cows to the village.
Evening meal with local wine was all inclusive, sharing a table with a delightful Bucaresti couple where we learnt more than in the guide books
Heating is basic and in Nov a bit cold by morning.
All in all a great experience

Great place to experience eco traditional food and staying in a traditional house restaured maintaining the old customs.

The hosts are very welcoming and they offer quite a variety of activities to do. The ones we tried and recommend are a trip with a horse carriage to the coal maker, truffle hunting, a visit to the beekeeper in town and lots of indications of what to see arround.

Go to the beekeeper regardless of the season as you are to here a great and detailed description of this craft.
Great place I think for those that enjoy biking over hills.

Experience the excellent dishes cooked by the hosts and do not miss tasting the house offer of wine and digestives "palinca".

Places to visit arround: Viscri, Mesendorf and other fortified churces. In case they are not open you can always go to the key holder in the village and ask them to open. the address can be obtained from the villagers or from the hosts of Casa cu Zorele.

For all the ones which want to discover the deep and ancient Transylvania, to taste the life of a typical Saxon village, this is a place to be. Carefully restored house (you will find the atmosphere of the beginning of 20th century), typical furniture (I’ve enjoyed the tall bed), charming garden (the 3 cats were the cherry on the cake), a fortified church at 500m so far. Our hosts, Mihaela and Tiberiu, are typical Transylvanian people: friendly, knowing how to receive their guests, able to recommend a lot of place to visit. The kitchen was remembering the one of my grandma (also from Transylvania) and for the visitors I have only one suggestion: since each plate is a nice surprise, you can trust them on their choice. As I said, since is a trip back on time, you will not find TV, WiFi internet, but a real charming house (with all the modern life comfort other wise) and nice host. Give you at least 3 days of stay; not only a charming place to rest, but also a lot of places to visit and nice roads to take on bicycle.
Thanks a lot for our stay and as our daughters said, everything was DELICIOUS. See you next time.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice to rent. If you are with children, asked for the "Camera Jupanului"...

If you are looking for a place that is unique and reflects the real Transylvania, this B&B is an excellent choice. The farmhouse is located in the sleepy village of Crit and is over 200 years old. Many of the features of the original house are still there, but the bedrooms have modern conveniences. It's like living in a post Saxon museum. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay a rewarding experience. The food is tremendous and with the upgrades to the kitchen, they create some very tasty breakfasts and dinners.
The main tourist town of Sighisoara is a 20 minute drive. The landscape and villages around Crit are beautiful and worth exploring. If you have your own car your rural stay experience will be convenient and memorable.

Room with a tiled stove & simple beautiful wooden furniture, genuine food, great wine, ‘Ţuică’ (romanian spirit traditionally made of fruits) that Tiberiu was bringing and pouring before we started eating, Mihaela (what a cook & what a great courage to follow her dreams!) who was describing dishes with sparks in her eyes about how she made it & what are the ingredients, cats that our daughter was chasing passionately, people we had a chance to meet by the table. Will never forget this moment: silence, sitting on the porch with wine, chatting, listening to the sound of horse’s hooves pulling the cart…
We love Romania like that.
Ps. From Crit were ‘Casa cu zorele’ is located we took a trip by car to Viscri (must), Sighisoara (must), Mesendorf, Bunesti, Cloasterf (calm villages with fortified churches, unfortunately during our visit were closed/under renovation).

First, if you need the full "comfort" of a modern hotel, this house is not for you. You have no TV in a room, but you have marvelous hosts and fantastic atmosphere. The food is delicious and home-made. You can really taste the country-side life in Romania as it use to be, but with a well-provided personal bathroom :) The owners are charming, well educated and very helpful, and we spent a great evening discussing with them during dinner. Also, this B&B can be a good base to explore on your own some of the UNESCO-listed fortified churches of Transylvania, or the surroundings (Viscri, Sighisoara, Biertan, Saschiz, etc). All in all, a delightful experience.
