“Great hospitality, location and atmosphere!”

With our extended family of 7 we had a great time in this cozy cottage! The owners were incredibly hospitable and helpful: brochures about the surroundings and tasty scones awaited us on our arrival and we got great tips about what kind of activities to do. The cottage itself was in perfect shape, with a atmospheric fire place, neat bedrooms (with multiple shower opportunities) and a great kitchen. The view to the back is amazing as well, with the river and an old bridge in a hilly setting. In short, a great location to spend some time off and enjoy the different aspects of Scotland!

Liked best: the atmosphere, the river, the fire site, the location and the helpfulness and hospitality of the owners
Liked least: the bedding, some mattresses are saggy and the bed for the 7th and 8th person has a way to thin mattress

“Superb setting and very comfortable”
Reviewed September 7, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Honeyholm croft is comfortable, well equipped and in a beautiful part of Scotland. The owners live next door and are available, helpful, friendly, but not at all intrusive. Our dog was in her element with a lawn to herself and her own little river to play in. We visited Loch Lomond, Aberfoyle, Stirling, Glasgow, and Edinburgh as well as the immediate locality. We also had good weather to enjoy sitting on the patio with its stunning views. All in all we had a very relaxing holiday.

“Excellent accommodation in perfect location for visiting local beauty spots”
Reviewed August 9, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Very warm welcoming hosts, always available when help and advice was needed. Clean and spacious accommodation with beautiful views. We had sole use of the back garden leading down to the river and the opportunity to use the owners' garden as well.
The downstairs suite was perfect for my parents as my Mum had recently broken her ankle and was recovering. We would highly recommend this to our friends and thanks to Julie and Iain for all their helpful tips and advice.

“The perfect cottage in the perfect setting.”
Reviewed June 23, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

I booked the cottage after searching the net for property in this general area. We had planned a holiday with our daughter, husband and 2 granddaughters aged 4 and 2. Honeyholm turned out to be better than we could have imagined and the views from the front, or is it the rear, are superb. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everthing an extended family could wish for from a dishwasher to save grandad having to wash up to toys and books etc for the youngsters. Julie was on hand to greet us and had provided a highchair and cot for the youngest which mean't fewer items to squeeze in the cars. The scones were a very tasty surprise. We had great weather throughout and the children in particular made full use of the excellent facilities at the cottage. We also found that it was ideally situated for the many local attractions. Julie had, prior to our visit, supplied us with various options to visit in the area which we made full use of. The older members of the party were happy to sit at the rear, or is it the front, just to take in the marvellous views across the countryside. In brief this turned out to be fabulous holiday in the perfect cottage in the perfect setting.

“A perfect retreat”
Reviewed June 16, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We made a last minute booking at the Honeyholm in May and were definitely not disappointed. The property was spacious and very well equipped, and Julie and Ian were the perfect hosts. The large front and back gardens had plenty of play equipment which kept our children (11,8 and 5) amused for hours. The views of the hills from the large living room windows were amazing. Glasgow Science Centre is a great family day out, and Conic Hill is a good walk for children. Thanks again, Julie and Ian, and we hope to see you again soon!

“Great cottage for a relaxed weekend in the country”

I booked this cottage for a group of 8 of us to celebrate a birthday, and we were all very impressed. Julie and her family were extremely hospitable, friendly and helpful, but in no way intrusive. The house was very well equipped to accommodate a group of our size, beautiful views, great kitchen and a lovely wood-burning stove. I would rate the cottage as very good value for money.

We found this to be a superb location for some relaxation in the countryside, close to the hills and Loch Lomond, but also close enough to justify a night out in Glasgow. Thoroughly recommended!

I would thoroughly recommend this cottage as it was very homely with a wonderful wood burning fire. The cottage itself was excellent and the scenery from the windows was great even when it was raining! Also the owners were so good to us and even made us home baked scones!
