Up in Scotland shortly before Christmas, my wife and I passed through Buchlyvie and stopped off for a quick bite in what turns out is an old post Office now lovingly rewored into an excellent coffee shop and much more. Some two hours later, we continued our journey as rather than just grabbing a sandwich and a coffee to go, we decided to eat in and boy, was that the right choice. Homemade soup was followed by an excellent tuna and cheese panini for me and a chicken salad for 'er indoors, and we simply could ot resist the cakes. A really pleasant coffee house with an owner who obviously has put a lot of thought into his clientele and/or potential clientele. There is a kiddies play area at the front and another room to the rear set aside where kids can paint local pottery to their own design while the parents can dine in relative peace and quiet. If you're using the road between Stirling and Loch Lomond, then this is the watering hole for you to stop off at. There is a small car park to the rear of the premises, but parking on the road is usually available too. I highly recommend it, it is delightful !!!
