“The Best You Can Get - A Real Hideaway”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

We were 3 mature guys touring the North Of Scotland for 5 days, we used this as our base. This has more than the "WOW" factor, its sheer heaven. Perfect location for complete rest and relaxation. But beware if you don't like sheep as they are your alarm call every morning, for us we could not have asked for more as they are delight to share their field with. . After driving all day touring around Northern Scotland we returned each evening to this real piece of tranquility, and a real soak in the hot tub. The lodge we had Cromarty was perfect for either 3 or 4 visitors, 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms. The kitchen area we would loved to create in our own homes, as with the living room area.
The web site does not do this accommodation justice as we told our delightful hosts Don & Barbara. That to us was the only moan and coming from us thats amazing, only the website to moan about ahahhaha.
Thanks for a wonderful 4 nights - WE WILL BE BACK

When we arrived at the lodge we were so excited by our stay and thought how beautiful it was. We had a lovely stay however the end of our holiday was completely ruined after being charged for items we hadn't touched. After giving a £50CASH deposit we received a £10 CHEQUE! We were also sent an invoice bein charged for 2 missing coat hangers. Quite funny considering we didn't even use the coat hangers other than to hang up the 2 dressing gowns. We were also charged for 2 missing teaspoons which, again is ironic as neither of us drink tea or coffe nor did we have any foodstuff that we would use a tea spoon for. Even if we had why on earth would we would we steal them? Pathetic. The funniest thing of all this that we were charges £12.95 for 2 spoons. Funny considering the whole set was a cheap argues one! The next thing we were charged for was the silk bed runner. Considering it sat at the end of the bed it was never touched so why we were charged £10 to clean it is beyond me. I don't ever recall staying in a hotel and having to pay extra to have the bed sheets washed? We initially didn't mind paying the EXTREMELY overpriced 615 pounds as we had worked hard for a nice break but we now deeply regret this as we have seen more reasonably priced lodges since which I'm sure would have cost us less hassle. We left the place immaculate and also left washing tablets, washing up liquid etc for the next guests. More fool us. If your going to stay here I reccommemt counting every little object and writing it down at the start of your stay as we have obviously been unfairly scammed out of more money. A comment was made by the owner about myself looking under 25and that they only accept over 25's "for obvious reasons" perhaps this was why these incidents happened? Not all young couples are the same we simply wanted a quiet relaxing weekend together after a stressful few weeks and unfortunately it was ruined for us. We won't be back and all the people we initially told about this place will now be informed to avoid.!z,! We perhaps should have read the danger sign when, after paying over £600 to book we phoned the owners who had "no knowledge" of our booking. Very professional!

1) My cleaner and I or my husband and I check each lodge after it has been cleaned for content and cleanliness against an inventory list proir to the next guests stay. If something is missing, we deduct the cost from the security deposit. We clearly state on our website and in our 'Welcome' folder what kinds of things incur charges and we invite guests to let us know if something is not working or has broken.
2) We also clearly state on on our website and in our 'Welcome' folder that excessive staining requiring professional cleaning incurs charges. We are not a hotel with the resources they may have but a small self catering concern trying to run a business.
3) The booking was made in a different name from the one stated, hence the lack of knowlege about the booking and anxiety that there might have been an overbooking.
4) The pricing structure is set by our booking agent.
It was useful to have a 'negative' review because it highlights the unfortunate need to have to charge a security deposit but equally I am very disappointed that you as guests are so upset. We have double check sysytems in place precisely to avoid issues of what went missing when.

This was a beautiful lodge in gorgeous surroundings and very secluded. We didn't need to take a thing except money, clothes and ourselves as everything was provided, including tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We had a shower steam sauna, jaccuzzi bath and the best of all a hot tub which was wonderful, dressing gowns were even provided for coming out of it. It was very roomy and beautifully set out, we will definately be back.
Our hosts barbara and donald were very welcoming.
The area has plenty to do surrounding it, the black isle was lovely especially chanonry point where we saw the dolphins.

Room Tip: All 3 lodges have same lovely view

We had a fabulous holiday from the moment we arrived. We were shown straight to our lodge, as we were taken round it just got better and better, it was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and furnished, light airy and totally private. Everything you could wish has been thought of, even towels for our dog.The hot tub was amazing, sceney and wildlife great, red kites, buzzrads and herons overhead. Even the sheep and lambs were a joy to watch. We are definately planning another stay and will certainly be recommending to family and friends, good luck Barbara and Donald and all the best we've a feeling you're going to be very busy.

We stayed at Beauly lodge and it was amazing, everything you need and more, even towels supplied for our dog. Hot tub brilliant, totally private with Red Kites, Buzzards and Herons hovering overhead. Truly a wonderful holiday, we will definately be recommending to family and friends and are planning our next stay.

On arrival, you were met and shown to your lodge. On walking up the ramp to the lodge and upon opening the door, all my wife and I could say was 'WOW'. The lodges are kept immaculate both inside and out and, if you are looking for unsurpassed luxury with all the modern conveniences and technology then these lodges tick all the boxes. We only wish we could lift the lodge and take it home with us.
