Meikleour Beech Hedge

We are used to seeing all sorts of wonders thanks to CGI. This is real, and it is big. My favourite thing in Perthshire.

I pass the hedge regularly so I have got to the stage were I do not notice it anymore. It can be quite spectacular during the Autum when the leaves are changing colour.

Special Valentine Dinner was good addition to the normal menu, also available that night. Dining room suitably dressed for the accasion. Log fire, candles, flowers, just perfect. Service attentive and alert, but not obsequious. We had asked for our favourite room above the dininging room for the night. Success, even tho' only staying one night. . Impeccable room, nice mixture of very old and very new. Giant bed. dressed to get lost in. Good view from ancient window with low -level seat. Complementary sherry a final brillant touch, as was the little tub of sweets. Good freeview TV . A perfect night's sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. We chose from the "full Scottish"selection. Kippers, smoked haddock etc. also available. As good as you will find...Staff excellent throughout. How to run an Inn!!!

'Nuff said. It's a very pretty drive to see it as well. On the way you drive on what used to the be the Roman road (one of the only straight bits on road in Scotand).
