This place reminds you of how life can be when you're able to get away from the daily grind...! A little private Utopia on Earth - a hotel/estate where you can commune with the beauty of Nature and recharge the batteries....Its ideal for reminding oneself of what Life is really all about - the joy of Living itself and the power of unspoilt, unexploited Beauty. It's a place where 'just being' each day becomes a meditation on Higher Consciousness - whether you are aware of it or not!
You awake each morning to the soothing and cathartic rhythm of waves gently breaking on shore, you notice a yellow butterfly dance around the Alamandas flowers as you walk to the 'Palapa' for fresh mango and papya from the organic farm on the estate, you ask for whatever you need to eat and drink and its provided...freshly grown or farmed locally...and its brought over with a smile...
As there aren't too many rooms on the property, you dont seem to come across too many others staying at the hotel - but fellow guests I've found to generally be like-minded souls looking to 'get away from it all'...and its perfectly possible to bump into more descrete 'A' listers or billionaires who know the 'best kept secret' of where to get away from it all and dont want to spoil that by letting their friends 'in on it'!
The place is equally set up...This place reminds you of how life can be when you're able to get away from the daily grind...! The place is equally set up for romance, (e.g. a cliff top candle lit dinner can be arranged), solo creative people, friends or family groups...there are so many wholesome activities to enjoy from kyaking on the lagoon, to birdwatching, boogie-boarding, beach walking or taking the hotel boat out along the river and see the local fishermen out at sea or even catch a glimpse of the migrating humpback whales....
Generally I think the guests in the beach front villas take it easy and doing nothing but enjoying existing in the private jacuzzi or private pool!!!
More recently, there has been added a new, extremely cool 'star gazing bar' and art gallery with revolving shows of mexican artists including some incredible Huichol Indian Needworks showing Shamanic Peote Ceremonies...
Alamandas is really is out of this world - a place where magic happens and you'll find yourself wanting to go back again and again, and each time you will discover something new and inspiring to explore...
