Hello Villa Kristina.
I was at Villa Kristina for 5 days.
It was so wonderful, and I can only thank you for a wonderful stay.
The food was so good that we got the same thing every day for breakfast - fresh made omelet and fresh made juice , and it was also very cheap. We have just taken off to Denmark, on July 23rd and I already I miss it and want to go back.
If you plan to visit Montenegro choose Villa Kristina.
I recommend to stay a few days and relax enjoying the beautiful hotel.
The staff is great and Miro is a perfect host.
The area is not a typical turist trap but an undiscovered pearl with a great nature and crystal clear water in front of the hotel.
Cecilie and Steen.

Our expectations of the hotel were high due to eight 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor.

Our experience was that whilst there are certain aspects that make this hotel unique, there are others that definitely need to be improved. On the whole we did not get the impression that the owners had much experience of running a hotel/restaurant.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, right by the water in the Bay of Kotor. I would say that a car is pretty much essential as the hotel is about 10 km from Kotor and 6 km from Tivat, the nearest towns. Near the hotel there are a number of holiday apartments and B&Bs but we did not see any restaurants and one therefore either needs to eat in the hotel restaurant or drive. A diving platform and a small section of pebble beach belong to the hotel, providing direct access to the crystal clear water.

The rooms (we stayed in a suite) are in the style of a cabin on a luxury yacht which whilst quirky means that the rooms are relatively small.

The biggest disappointment was the restaurant, in particular in light of the very postive reviews on Tripadvisor. The restaurant has a very extensive menu and not everything on the menu was available. There were very few people eating at the restaurant and the size of the restaurant and the menu seemed disproportionate to the size of the hotel and the number of rooms. The fresh fish my wife ate was overly salty and the pasta I had was overcooked and drowning in sauce. When we had breakfast at the hotel black tea was not available and the cappucino was coffee with a bit of frothed milk rather than a proper cappucino. We stayed for two nights and decided to drive into Kotor for dinner on the second day. The food in the restaurant is moderately priced but by no means cheap.

The newly refurbished room was generally fine, however, there were certain things that did not work properly which given the four star rating of the hotel was disappointing. The electricity in the room only works when a card is pushed into a card holder by the entrance in common with many hotels. This said the room was opened with a key and the card remained semi permanently in the card holder. Room service pulled out the card which would have been fine if the electricity supply to the minibar was separate. This resulted in all drinks in the fridge being at room temperature. There were two TVs, one in the bedroom and the other one in the sitting area and the one in the sitting area did not work. The shower door could not be closed properly resulting in a minor flooding every time the shower was used. Whilst none of these points in isolation were particularly annoying, it gave us the impression that there is a lack of attention to detail.

If all you are after is a beautiful and quiet setting I would recommend this hotel but unfortunately the quality of the restaurant was disappointing which is an issue give the isolated location of the hotel.

Dear,
I can't believe reading this review how fals people can be. No one complain or suggestion during stay all the time saying everthing is OK everthing is perfect. THis guests stay only two night we have free two day so I reduced price 50% !!!! they get room with incredible discount -- this is probably our mistake to never any more give so big discount because regarding price ypou get this kind of guests. Fortunatelly hundred satisfied guests we have writting excellent experinced from Villa Kristina as best holidays and outstnadiong food our restaurant received award as best restaurant for the 2011. This comment doesn't talk about us this comment talk more about people who writte such things. I am so sorry that some people can be happy and satisfied. Anywhere as all the time we will keep high standard of the service we will keep our frend and family atmiosfere. All suggestion is all the time welcome because only with help of our guests we can improve service but please just be honnest that's all we ask

Beautiful waterfront location, lovely rooms, and excellent restaurant. Our room was reminiscent of a stateroom on a cruise ship. You walk into a small sitting room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water, continue back through a small corridor with a bathroom off to one side to a bedroom in the back. Lovely terrace in front of our unit overlooking the water. Very convenient to Kotor, if you have a car – about a 15-minute drive if you go via the route through the mountain tunnel. Villa Kristina is a small establishment and the waterfront access is about 100 feet wide. Note that it is not a sand beach, but has a stone deck with beach chairs and stairs making it easy to get into the water (and also a very small pebble beach at one end, that also provides access to the water). Water was clean and inviting. The property next door has a larger dock that boats stop at – probably possible to take a bay cruise from that dock. Adjoining property and dock appear to be very popular with other vacationers in the area, so there is no shortage of activity throughout the day and into the early evening.

Other points to note: AC worked well and wifi reception was fine on our terrace and sitting area. Parking area behind the property is small and can be crowded given the other people visiting the neighboring property and dock, but we were always able to find a spot. Note that there is no “front desk” at Villa Kristina. From the parking area, follow the dirt path to the left that leads to a stone pathway that goes along the side of Villa Kristina (with a few steps up along the way). Take that and head to the restaurant. You will be able to fine a member of the staff there who can check you in.

The Villa Kristina is in a quiet, beautiful location with a patio and beach just steps from your room. We stayed in the smallest room which was in fact small, but it was clean with a very nice bathroom and a King size bed. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the waiter, Vlado. If you are a "foodie", you will LOVE this place! The chef is amazing, and we loved everything we ordered. And we were quite surprised at how inexpensive the food was despite being so good. The location is about 10 mins from Kotor old town or Tivat airport and costs only 10 Euro by taxi. We could faintly hear the techno music across the bay from Kotor old town which we'd been warned parties all night. So if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, beautiful place to stay, this is it!

One of the most beautiful places I have visited - the views from the hotel are amazing and it is a great place to relax and swim. It was very tranquil. The staff are lovely and as previously mentioned the food in the restaurant is delicious. Thanks Villa Kristina!

Room Tip: All of the rooms seemed nice, our's had a sea view which was good.

A truly amazing place to stay for the most relaxing of holidays. We came for a couple of days and really didn't want to leave. Miro (the owner) and his family were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The chef and gave us three delicious meals a day, lots of fresh seafood and the best grilled steaks. The waiter was very good, such a treat to have such great service. We were able to relax by spending most days sitting by the water and snorkelling by the rocks outside the villa. Everything we needed was provided for and more, the room was clean and new with even a tv in the bathroom and giant jacuzzi spa bath. On the day of our departure we were heading on to Budva and Miro kindly offered to drive us there as he was heading in that direction - fantastic hospitality throughout our stay!
