My husband and I stayed at Eco Habitat for 2 nights in December. I booked this place given the great reviews by all and expected it to be such but i was disappointed. The rooms are spacious but very ordinary in terms of the furniture and look. For instance, in the verandah, the plastic table can be easily replaced by cane furniture without too much dent in the pocket and can look amazing. I therefore felt the room is overpriced. The tap water was hard water so all you ladies be careful before washing your lustrous locks. The private pool was good though. Som and Chetna are nice people and very helpful however I felt the place by itself disappoints. The food quality was average and variety was seriously lacking. Moreover, i cannot get over the fact that inspite of being a home stay, we were charged hotel rates for coffee and masala papad which was not even fried but roasted. The TV channels were all pay channels, something which doesnt even happen in a hotel where you get atleast a few channels including movie channels free to view. So I wouldnt call this a place where you get value for your money.

It our pleasure hosting you at Eco habitat. Seems like you have decided to stay at Eco habitat in hurry. We appreciate your time given for reviewing us. Thank you for the suggestions, we are working towards replacing outdoor furniture to cane and bamboo. Since your stay was short and you spent a lot of time on sight seeing outside, we did not get enough time to discuss various options for meals. We serve organic home cooked meals. If it was not appealing enough , we apologize. We expect our esteem clients to spend time with nature and river side close to Eco habitat. TV has never been our priority , if you wanted any particular channel, you may have requested us during your stay and we for sure would have asked our service provider to update the particular channel. We look forward to see you again in future at Eco habitat -meeting your expectations.

Excellent ambience with eco systems. We were treated with personal touch and rich food which makes us to stay comfortably. The stay was very comfortable with good healthy food. Mr.Somasekar and Mrs.Chettana take care of us with utmost care as a family member. This is the only place for undisturbed holiday stay to rejuvenate our self by lowering stress levels. . We spent a quality time in the pool side with family and a walk to kauveri river opposite to our cottage.Onward and return journey were planned very comfortably .Looking forward to go back to our second home.

Room Tip: "Good natural habitat"

Our stay at this place is one of the best holiday. This place and surroundings are very beautiful. Finest hospitality by Som, Chetana and Gowrish. We were here with our 4yr kid. No hassles at all for food, we get everything of our choice and food is very tasty. Of all my kid enjoyed the most; the pool, the landscape, the animals (horse, puppies, cow, ducks, sheep) the most. We had camp fire one of the nights.
This place is very near to Dubbare elephant camp and Nisarghadhama. Som is volunteered to take us for a coffee plantation tour and backwater view. These are unexpected trips and we enjoyed a lot.
Keep in mind, this home stay is not in Madikeri, it's between Kushal Nagar and Madikeri. If one like to have a calm and serene place to stay, this is the best place to choose. I am sure no one will regret for choosing this home stay.

Good location for all attraction in and around Madikeri.
Good food. Whatever dishes were served were tasty.
Good ambiance for both family outing and bachelors.
Good Service. The owner really takes good care of the guests and suggest the activities based on the interest of the group.
Overall we had good time.

Definitely will consider spending time in Eco Habitat if I visit Coorg again.

Room Tip: Both available rooms are good.

I stayed at the Eco Habitat with my 14 year old son last week and it was a wonderful few days. The villa itself is peaceful and has everything you really need in a rural location. We loved sitting on the porch sipping tea with friends who shared the adjacent villa. Som is the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble for him. He took us to see the elephants bathing and also a hike up into the hills which was unforgettable. He also advised us on where the best temples were and where to shop for local produce. Chethana served us sumptuous food every day and catered to some of our western food choices very well. Our stay at Eco Habitat was very special and one we will remember forever. I know we will return one day!
