The USP of this homestay (prefer to call it homestay rather than hotel) is the owner, Mr. Sheik. You can easily plan a free day to rest in between the tour days and I can assure you won't be bored for a minute. You can chat with him for the whole day, a lovely person with amazing stories to tell.
Coming to the rooms and facilities, the entire house, along with the rooms are spotlessly clean and newly painted/renovated. Looks like he keeps it that way always rather than we landing up in a newly painted house by chance. The rooms are quite big and airy. And if you are apprehensive about the lack of an air conditioning, let me confirm, you won't need one (should have put in caps but that's against the guidelines). The view from the balcony and room is amazing.
You'll get coffee/tea whenever you want. Food is brought in from outside, Mr. Sheik drives down and brings it himself, so plan early and just let him know. Whatever we tried was good, ask him for his recommendations too.

Thanks for this amazing stay. It was hard so say bye to this man.

P.S. - Driving tips - If you are driving down to the homestay (which you must be, I don't see any other way), don't depend on GPS. Call him up to pickup you up or give you detailed directions (locals won't be too helpful in locating it either). GSP will land you there but through a very long winded route. There's a much shorter and straight route to the place. I noticed two broken gates on the way, so may be Google thinks it's a private road. Will check if I can get this corrected in Google Maps.

Room Tip: I guess all the four double rooms are on first floor, so any of them are good (with a good view). Th...

Dreamland home stay, fully justifies its name. One is received with a hearty welcome and friendly smile from the owner, Mr. Sheik, on reaching the venue. The place is well maintained and is dot clean, this coupled with the reasonable price, and the attitude of Mr. Sheik and his son makes the stay much more memorable.
I had a three nights stay with my wife, and we enjoyed each minute of our stay. The visits for sightseeing are also arranged, but will be reasonable if it is for a group. Peace and decorum is very well maintained at the stay. One can enjoy the landscape from the balcony, and the terrace.
The kitchen is well arranged, and one has access anytime during the night/day, and can have the pleasure and benefit of tea/coffee anytime. One will also enjoy the company of Mr. Sheik, who is friendly and enthusiastic in spending time with the customers even up to late night.
The maid is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: any room on the first floor is fine and is good for a couple.

I stayed there with my family for 1 night. The most notable aspect of this homestay is the behaviour and attitude of the owner, Mr. Shaikh. Very friendly, helpful and oriented towards hospitality. The rooms were neat, as well as the attached bathrooms (we had rented 3 of them). The caretaker (Harish) is also a great guy - very helpful and he got us the food we wanted from the menu. There's a nice terrace where one can enjoy the night sky. The setting around the homestay is really great - completely surrounded by green undulating terrain (including hills). Anyone wanting a break in the lap of nature can safely choose this homestay for a great experience. Thanks for everything, Mr. Shaikh.

Stayed at this place for 3 nights in May 2014 and here is my feedback:

Pros:
1. Security
2. Good and friendly people (care-taker, assistant all of them)

Cons:
1. You will be disappointed if you are looking for a scenic location to stay. This place is situated in a god-forbidden dead end of a small street (i still dont know how to reach this place). When you open the windows, all you get to see is the dry and horrible landscape. You definitely dont get a feeling of coming on a vacation
2. The rooms are extra-ordinarily small (atleast the one where I stayed) that a family of 2 adults and 2 kids definitely cannot stay comfortably
3. The worst part is that this place is infested with bugs, wasps, beetles, toads, frogs and cockroaches (really huge size) and baby lizards. These insects move very freely inside the room as well as on the corridor, bathrooms and kitchens
4. Kitchen is an absolute mess. If you are a hygienic person, you will not get into this kitchen even once. All utensils are dirty and not washed thoroughly, totally dependent on the maid who comes occassionally
5. No A/C and you would really huff-puff if you are here around mid-April to mid-May. You just have to experience this to understand the pain we underwent
6. A small 17" TV that does not work when power goes off
7. Our bathroom was always stinking. You just cannot escape the stink as soon as you open the room and it lingers till you get out
8. You are totally dependent on the travel agents who ply their omni, qualis and other vehicles who ply to this place. Travelling independently to this place (if you have small kids) is a major challenge
9. The breakfast, if ordered, is served from other Homestay that the owner owns. The breakfast is typically cold and make sure you eat as soon as it arrives, else, it is as good as swallowing a live toad in an empty stomach
10. I was not even given a receipt for my payment there, while the owner took 8% tax also

If you are a more urban type, who does not love insects, roaches and lizards living with you and want a relaxing and a scenic place to stay, this one is not for you.

Room Tip: Rooms on the right hand side seem to be smaller, i think. If you are willing to participate in "...

I visited coorg on 28th March 2014.It was a great stay in Dreamland Daffodil homestay.
The owner Sheik and Roomboy Harish has helped us alot in many aspects. also i went there with my huisband and 1 1/2 years baby. They provided the kitchen with all facilities, there i had prepared dishes for my baby. Breakfast was really good. It is in remote place, bue even the town is very near to this homestay. We can also visit few places around this homestay.

You will feel like, you are staying at youor home.It s great recommend place for the familes.
The place is located in a very calm area without any disturbances.

I just came after my trip to Kushal Nagar and Coorg and can't sleep before commenting about this stay. I stayed there for 2 days and right from my booking till by return, the hospitality and the treatment was amazing. Mr Sheik and the other staffs are highly qualified and customer maniac. He was waiting for us to receive us though it was night and he made us comfort all . Had a very good time there. The stay is near to Golden temple, Nisargadhama, Dubare etc. It's Very near to the Kushal Nagar bus station. In 30 minutes we can reach Madikeri for other destinations. If you are planning for a 2 day stay in Coorg, no need to think of anything. Just go for this and have a great time. Lots of thanks to Mr Sheik and staffs for their wonderful treatment and well maintained apartment.

We did a quick weekend trip to Coorg to the Dubare Elephant Camp and we stayed at Daffodils Homestay. We made this choice based on the distance from the camp and the ratings at Trip Advisor.

Called up Mr. Sheik and booked our rooms. He also suggested that I pay an advance through the site. They have a good site setup and the payments can be done through it easily. Response was prompt and easy

We reached the bus stop at Kushal Nagar and called Mr. Sheik. He sent Mr.Harish to guide us. The first trip from the bus stop to the home stay was a little confusing. Mr.Sheik accompanied us the second time and we got a better idea. After that, we used the GPS to locate the place.

The rooms were very neat and comfortable. I could not believe the place was four years old. It was maintained well.

Took Mr. Sheik's advice on the places to visit apart from the camp. This was thoughtfully provided on their website.

Though we did not stay for the breakfast, Harish provided us good tea at 6.00 a.m on our request.

One thing that stands out is the promptness of the service. Your requests are taken care of quickly and with no hesitation..

They don't have a credit card machine but they do accept online payments through a third party vendor and it is done though their site.

After a whole day of travelling, I enjoyed relaxing in the lounge listening to the chirping of the insects and the cool breeze.

Our thanks to Mr. Sheik and Mr. Harish for making our trip enjoyable.
