We stayed at The Enchanted Manor for 2 nights, the hotel was beautiful.
We were greeted by Ric when we arrived & nothing was too much trouble for him.
The room we stayed in was called 'Candlelight' Wow was my 1st reaction :)
(the only thingiwould say negative about the room, was a little ott with some of the ornaments. As it was so tastefully decorated, it was a little spoilt with some of the cheap looking nick nacks.
The garden was gorgeous too, lots of flowers & statuettes etc. They even had badgers visit every night to be fed in the garden. Lots of places to sit & relax. They even had a hot tub....
The bed was very comfy & beautifully dressed.....
We received a breakfast menu to make our choices! The menu had something for everyone. We had the full english both mornings. Which was good to perfection & was very filling too. (Bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, beans and fried potatoes. On the second day we shared a fruit platter too (strawberries, melon, kiwi fruit, orange & grapes) the grapes came from the vine growing above our heads in the beautiful dining room.....
Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Maggie, but Ric more than made up for it. ( I think she was busy doing wedding stuff, as they also do weddings at the hotel)
I would highly recommend this hotel as the service and experience was absolutely lovely.....

Room Tip: Candlelight Suite :)

We booked a room at the Enchanted Manor for a long weekend away in the Isle of Wight, and had a lovely stay being very well looked after by Maggie and Ric.

Maggie and Ric really have tried to make this place enchanted, and the decor (though not to my personal taste) follows the theme perfectly. There are fairies, unicorns and angels everywhere, and little fairy doors in the trees, and the whole building is adorned with ornate 'enchanted' paintings by the same artist (including one specially done for Maggie and Ric of the Enchanted Manor) . This definitely is a unique place, and whether you would like clouds painted on the ceiling in your own home or not, you must appreciate the quirkiness and time spent on making this hotel somewhere special.

When walking into the reception area the first thing we noticed were all the awards the manor has won, which was lovely to see, and reassured us we had chosen the right place!

We were shown around by Ric, who took us to the reception rooms, where there is a pool table, chess board and a wide selection of DVDs and board games. There is also a wedding room, that was already set up, and followed the enchanted theme of the manor. The breakfast room is lovely, a long, light conservatory that looks out onto the beautiful gardens, and with real grapes growing on the inside of the ceiling. They have some lovely pieces of furniture carved from rustic looking wood, and the whole room looked very welcoming. Ric told us that in the evening they put food out for a family of badgers that come and feed on their lawn - you dont get that everywhere!

Our bedroom on the ground floor was enormous, with a very grand four poster bed, and space for a sofa, table and chairs and TV. The room was bright and airy and had a huge bay window looking out into some parts of the garden, and the very end of the conservatory. We had a mini fridge with fresh milk, and two nice bottles of cool water, which were very welcome after a long day of travelling! The bed was very comfortable, and everything in the room was great, apart from the 'modesty curtain' covering the bathroom entrance, I would personally have preferred a door (being the prude that I am), but was happy to find communal toilets in the entrance area too!

The breakfast was great! We were asked to order what we wanted the night before, so that it could be ready for us almost as soon as we sat down. We both went for the country breakfast on the first day, and were very happy with our perfectly cooked heart shaped eggs and all the trimmings! On the second day I had the eggs benedict, also perfectly cooked and so delicious that I had it again the next day! Maggie and Ric really want to give you the best time, and are happy to take requests and alterations to the menu, so for my partner a bacon sandwich after a night of heavy cider consumption at the local Buddle Inn was very welcome! The cereal bar, and other breakfast bits are beautifully presented in heart shaped dishes, and there is loads to choose from, such as granola, yogurt, stewed fruits etc... and also bucks fizz if you fancy it!

Outside there is a large hot tub for guests to use, and this is set to a perfect 38 degrees! We used it once during our stay and had a lovely time being massaged by the jets while chatting and feeling the cool breeze in the garden.

Ric was a thoroughly lovely host, and went out of his way to help us with restaurant and taxi bookings, as we couldn't get any phone signal, and though we didn't actually meet Maggie, the breakfasts were lovely, and all the arrangements prior to making our trip, such as booking the ferry for us, were very well done.

Overall I would say this is a lovely place to stay, the bedrooms are comfy and welcoming, the hosts are friendly and attentive, and there is definitely romance in the air!

I booked this long weekend break for my husband's birthday and we were so glad I did. We are seasoned travellers and have been to many place but this hotel was magical without having to travel half way across the world! Maggie was a consummate professional with all the requests pre the break and Ric was great fun to be around, you could spend all your time listening to his various stories. The room was perfect, comfortable, spotlessly clean and a little haven to retire to at the end of an evening after spending all weekend sightseeing and walking endlessly. I pre-ordered a high tea on the day we arrived and it was beautifully presented and delicious, Maggie's scones were to die for. The breakfasts were equally as good and the waiter was polite, courteous and very efficient. We will definitely be coming back maybe during another season in the year. We walked in as strangers and left as if we were leaving good friends behind! Fantastic, just keep doing what you're doing. Ana and Jim.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Enchanted Room but I would imagine all the rooms are equally of the same high stand...

My wife and I live on the Isle of WIght about 5 minutes from this hotel but we work hard and offer a 24/7 emergency on call service so wanted some time out for her birthday.

The enchanted manor was the perfect getaway, you can immerse yourself in the fantasy world Ric & Maggie have created with so many tiny, personal touches you could literally spend all day just wandering around the hotel and gardens looking at oil paintings, carvings, stone statues, etc.

Complete with jacuzzi, chill out huts to watch the badgers at night, 2 great pubs in walking distance, sea views. Not to mention the massive, comfy rooms, great food and welcome reception from an ever friendly Ric.

There's no sense going on and on about it; just look at the other reviews; this place can not be beaten. Book it.

This was a very special place to stay and we truly enjoyed the quiet surroundings, impeccable and very magical setting and the attention received by both Maggie and Ric. Attention to detail was very evident from the moment you arrive on their drive.

Ric was always on standby with a big smile on his face to greet you whatever time it was. It was a great break for us and the only problem we had encountered during our stay was debating on how much time we should spend away from the hotel! Breakfast was both of a very high standard and plentiful which was great as we spent the rest of the day walking.

The suite was very clean & tidy, smelt lovely and had a separate shower and living area. For us, it was quite obvious that both Maggie and Ric take great pride and effort in ensuring their guests are very well looked after. We should also mention that Nacho (the Spanish employee) was very polite and does a great job.

The garden was a great place to sit at night and watch the badgers munch through the cornflakes left there by Ric. We spotted five one night! Definitely would stay here again...

My wife and I were bicycling on the Isle of Wight in July of 2010.. just sort of free lancing with no real firm places to stay on our trip around the Island... the afternoon was getting along and we needed to sort out a place to stay... we tried an "Inn" nearby and to our dismay found it did not let rooms... not much of an INN I thought so we continued along. We luckily caught a glimpse of the front entrance while cycling by and quickly turned back to see what it was exactly. We thought "well this is different!" and rang the bell. The inn keepers described the Manor as a couples retreat and probably not really suited to a couple of cyclists passing by.... I said "hey! we are a couple" and we booked the room. What a treat!... It was very romantic and the setting of the property is gorgeous. Our hosts were fantastic and directed us BACK to the "INN" for a lovely supper in the grounds of the pub.
The rooms were really nice and kinda "trippy" with fanciful things decorating the rooms, like angle wings on a manikin. The large canopy bed was an added treat as we were expecting to be camping out under the stars on a tarp that night! (which wouldnt have been bad either!).
