“Wonderful accommodation!”
Reviewed May 5, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Could not have asked for more from a place to stay! The cottage, it's gardens and location were all absolutely perfect. The beds were very comfortable and the whole place was so well equipped and immaculate. It was very apparent that a lot of thought had been given to what visitors might need or want. The ONLY downside was that we had only booked for 2 nights!! Can't recommend this place enough. The fantastic pub 2 minutes walk away was just the cherry on the top.

“Relax Relax Relax”
Reviewed May 5, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We booked for a week with our two daughters and grandchildren and son in law. This is our second visit and we were not disappointed. We felt at home the moment we arrived, the property was spotless and everything that was needed was there including logs for the fire. The garden is immaculate and above all was the sound of silence, no traffic noise or noisy neighbours. You can leave the car and walk for miles in magnificent countryside down to St Catherine's or along the old Blackgang road away from the "madding crowd". We would recommend the Stables to anyone who is looking for somewhere to relax and who has a high standard of accommodation in mind.

“A bit of paradise”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We spent a delightful week at The Stable at Buddle Place. The stable building has been expertly converted to create well-designed and well-appointed living spaces with lots of light, along with views to the garden and out to the sea. We particularly appreciated the warm welcome from the owner, who presented us with flowers and herbs from her garden shortly after our arrival. She and her husband live nearby and so are available if required, but the cottage is not overlooked and is completely private. The garden, which is exclusive to the house, is worth a special mention. It is especially well planted and laid out, with level access to a terrace and then on to lawn. We found lots to do roundabout, but probably spent more time at the house than we might otherwise have done simply because it was such a pleasant place to be, and located in such a beautiful and relaxing environment.

“An Island gem”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We found The Stable a very comfortable, immaculate, bright, airy and well-sited cottage set in a quiet country-village area. The accommodation is extremely well appointed with good living spaces and attractive, well planted garden. The building and grounds ooze old-world charm but internally all is presented to an extremely high standard of contemporary finish. Nothing had been forgotten to enhance our stay. There are delightful coastal walks within 5 minutes of the cottage and it is within walking distance of Niton (a small, busy village with a well-stocked mini supermarket, post office and second hand bookshop), and short drives to IoW resorts, towns and countryside. The lovely owners were helpful and informative and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy the island's many attractions. We really didn't want to leave.

“Perfect holiday cottage”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We took our 3 grandchildren in half term. The Stable is located in perfect position in Niton, wonderful for walks and nearby beaches and of course the pub ! .The Stable itself is beautifully decorated and equipped, with a lovely garden. Our grandchildren especially loved the underfloor heated bathrooms as the weather was unusually wet and cold for that week.We even lit the lovely wood burning fire.and I couldn't think of a better place to spend time away .We have booked again for next half term !

“Idyllic, secluded and beautiful house with lovely garden and sea views.”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This was our second visit to Jay and Marks's stylish, Scandinavian style converted stable, and once again everything was exemplary. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival, with welcoming flowers from the garden in the rooms, and is beautifully designed, so it is a pleasure to live in. Being on one level, it's perfect for my 96 year old mother, who loves the pretty, private garden (terrace, lawn and a profusion of unusual plants, with a view of the sea over the shrubs at the end of the lawn). Sitting out having lunch one day, we saw a red squirrel run across.
Jay is an expert at the art of being there when needed, and giving guests total privacy the rest of the time. Nothing is too much trouble, and she even handed us a vase of freshly cut sweet peas through the window one morning. All three houses ( the main house and the two rentals) on the property are fairly close to each other, but one does not feel any lack of privacy.
This part of the Isle of Wight is glorious; sheltered and lush, and from this cottage you can be out on amazing cliffs with endless walks in a matter of minutes. Niton is a lovely unspoilt village, with a post office which serves cream teas in the garden, and a wonderful shop selling all the groceries you could wish for, including the fabulous Minghella ice creams. It's also open until 9.00pm, and on Sundays. About two minutes walk from Buddle place is the Buddle Arms Inn, a 16th century pub serving excellent food, with a garden in front from which you can see the sea.
The island is not large, and there are many interesting places to visit for those who want to do that; this cottage makes a perfect base away from the crowds to return to. There are also many great places to eat out; we can recommend Salty's Seafood Bar in Yarmouth. There is a place called The Crab Shack much nearer, at Steephill Cove, but the way down to it is beyond our 96 year old's ability.
All in all a magical place to stay.
