“FAULTLESS”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

This was my first visit to Manzac d'en Bas and I'm sure it won't be the last. Having spent a week on an inspiring art course trying to capture the delights of the region, and read all the positive comments made by other reviewers, I don't feel it is necessary to repeat what has already been eloquently expressed. The title of this review is all that is needed, the location, accommodation and most importantly our hosts, were faultless.

When can we come again? We returned from a wonderful week, spent in a beautiful area of France, and cannot wait to return. Our hosts could not have done more for us and their kindness in all things was genuine and outstanding. The art studio was fantastic and the drawing locations we were taken too each day were interesting and unique. Hope to see you again soon, Giles and Louise.

My wife and I were recently holidaying with Giles and Louise in their excellently run, full board accommodation in a party of fourteen, most of whom were painters, and we had a wonderful time. The work rate of our hosts in their efforts to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The painters were delivered to various locations of there choice and the rest offered options of local walks or simply sightseeing. This together with the excellent cooking by Louise, the attention to detail by Giles, the outstanding local views including the amazing Pyrenees made our holiday one to remember.
Many thanks to you both
Alan and Margaret.

Another wonderful week of painting at Manzac. Giles and Louise are the perfect hosts. The accommodation, food and scenery are superb. We cannot praise manzac too highly and are looking forward to our next visit.

Manzac is a magical place. You must forgive me, but I am going to use a lot of superlatives in this review. Giles and Louise have really worked hard and have succeeded in creating a wonderful retreat in a stunning location. The accommodation is really comfortable and oozes with character (and paintings). Giles and Louise are superb hosts. They are incredibly warm, welcoming and fun and did absolutely everything to make each one of us comfortable and happy and to enable us to paint away or relax as we wished. The meals (and wine) were delicious, varied and plentiful (lunch and drinks popped up wherever we were including at the mouth of prehistoric caves); arrangements were made seamlessly and (for us!) effortlessly; the special artists' studio was well-equipped. Delightfully, Giles and Louise, Iona and Fergus really seemed to enjoy having us at Manzac.
P.S. There are amazing views everywhere from Manzac but my room at the top had the most spectacular view down the valley and on to the Pyrenees.

I have just returned from an excellent week in this wonderful venue. Giles and Louise were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble.
Our view was fantastic and the most perfect location to be inspired for our painting.
We always had a variety of the most delicious meals served.,be it a BBQ by the river or sitting with the wonderful views of the Pyrenees.
I truly felt quite sad returning to the grey skies of London. A week full of very happy memories,
Certainly to be recommended very highly.

Having spent two weeks at Manzac last year, we returned for another two weeks this Summer. The kids had a fab time playing with the other guests children and as you can guess the Pool, Crocquet, Badminton and not to forget Daco the dog were all big hits.Giles, Louise, Iona and Fergus are wonderful hosts and we truly enjoyed their Introductory Greeting Nights - a lovely touch and a great way to meet the other guests. We also greatly appreciated Giles and Louise booking our reservation for our visit to the amazing Niaux Grotto. We had another wonderful holiday - it is an idyllic place and once we saw the magnificent view again we knew we were on holiday.
