Our room # 23 was $500/ night, + $45 maid service fee, +29% tax. We had to pay ~$1200 upon making the reservation to guarantee the room. We stayed 3 nights. The room was filthy at check-in. The glass shelves above the sinks in both bathrooms were covered in water marks and toothpaste smudges, the bathroom floor was dirty with hair and after walking around the room for 10 minutes barefoot, the bottom or my feet were black and had to be washed. The only light/lamp in the sofa bed room had a burnt out bulb. We got a replacement bulb (only 40 watts) and requested another lamp, also with a 40 watt bulb. These 2 measely lamps were not sufficient to light the room at night. You could see in the center of the ceiling of both rooms where there used to be ceiling fans, but they had been removed at some point, probably when the AC units were installed.
The sofa bed was very comfortable and I slept very well all 3 nights on it and my mother of 78 slept very well on the main bed. The room was quiet and the AC in the sofa bedroom was strong enought to cool both rooms very well. The hot water takes a long toime to reach the shower. When it finally arrives, it is never really hot. No soap dish is in the bathroom, so you must put the soap on the counter or glass shelf making a slimey mess. The drain of the sofa bed bathroom sink was VERY slow.
The ~32-37" Samsung flat screen TV's in each room were very nice and the free wi-fi was also appreciated with a little wooden desk to set the laptop on. The closet in the master bedroom was spaceous but the safe was rinky-dink. Both baths had showers with shower curtains and no tubs.
There is free coffee in the lobby starting at 7 am and decaff is available upon request.
We ate dinner at the hotel the first night because we were so tired and too lazy to seek out another place for dinner. The food was not very good and extremely overpriced. I had the grouper which was overcooked and on a bed of rice with no veggies or salad. My mother had the "lobster stack" for ~$18 which was an appetizer. She did not like it. When we sat down they asked us if we wanted still water or sparkling. We said "still" .
They charged us $10 for the water on the check! They did not tell us there was a charge for the water up front. We complained and got the water taken off the bill, but it was a hassel and a cause of stress.
The walkways and steps/stairs around the property are uneven and rough. My 78 year old mother had a hard tme getting around with very few railings for her to grab ahold of the steady herself. She was in constant fear of falling so I had to hold on to her every time she left the room. This is not a place for anyone with any trouble getting around.
The pool is small and dinky.
Only 1 small bottle of purified water is provided each day per person.
The view from the porch was fantastic and peaceful. Beach access to the Pink Sands Beach is on the property and the beach is gorgeous and very soft on the feet. There is also a place to wash your feet off after leaving the beach that is handy. Lounge chairs are free on the nbeach for hotel guests and are good ones.
The "room" was actually 2 rooms with 2 complete baths and was very spaceous. We did not feel crowded. It was very quiet and comfortable with good AV. There was also a mini frig.
