We always eat at the Atlantis when visiting the East Coast - and one day we intend to stay a few days, but this visit was not so good. We booked in advance, and wanted to eat early - it was in fact not at all busy when we arrived. First of all, we were being shown to our table when another group arrived. We were left standing in the entrance while they fussed about with this new group who we felt should have waited their turn! Eventually we were shown to a not very good table - right near where the waitresses were rushing about. We assumed that others were coming who had booked before us - not so, plenty arrived with no bookings and got better tables. We then had to wait ages before we even got a drink and generally the service was slow and hectic.
Lunch was ok but not up to previous standards.
We left as a large coach load arrived and were glad we had managed to finish in time. We will be there again of course as the setting is so fantastic and we love it.

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. It is through feedback such as yours that we are able to improve upon our current standards and offer a better quality product to our guests. My sincerest apologies if you felt that you were not well looked after during your recent visit. As you know from your previous visit, this is not the norm at the Atlantis Restaurant.

In terms of reservations, our railside tables are assigned based on when the reservation was made. As they are only six tables on the railing, they do get booked very quickly. Moreover, occasionally we serve as a drinks stop for groups of cruise passengers touring the island. I suspect that one of these groups were arriving as you were departing that day.

We would have liked if you had taken the time to share your grievance with us before departing that day, so we could have had the opportunity to apologise in person and do our utmost to rectify your grievance. Nonetheless, we hope that you do accept our apology and return to visit us soon for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Best Regards

We went for lunch on an a la carte day. The staff were very welcoming and we had booked and were given a frontline table. The east coast views are fantastic and the food good. We both had goat curry served on a Dahl patti roti, with salad and homemade coleslaw. It was delicious. Having shared a generous portion of flying fish pate to start with, sadly we had no room for pudding. They looked good. This place is well worth the drive. Would strongly recommend it. Averagely priced I think, but good value for money.

This amazing little hotel was found by us by accident. We were staying at St Lawrence Gap and decided to do a tour of the island by car. Driving up the east coast, we suddenly found this charming little hotel, clinging to the edge of the rocks, overlooking the ocean. We were sat at a table, under a shady awning and offered the most amazing cocktail to cool us off. The owner and staff were so welcoming and were happy to offer their advice on where to go and what to see.

This would be an interesting place to stay for a get away from it all holiday!

Ate at the lunch buffet on Wednesday, October 30 and, as mentioned earlier, had to eat indoors due to a private event taking place on the terrace. When we arrived, the hostess said she was sure we were informed of the private event; however, a "Javon" had taken our reservation the night before and had failed to mention the private event; had we been informed, we might have re-considered because the view is most of the attraction. In addition, we didn't feel the food was worth the money. The chicken curry was full of bones, and the rest of the food was just average. We have eaten at the Atlantis lunch buffet twice previously and the food is OK, but not the main draw for us. If you can get a rail seat on the terrace, it is well worth going once - the view of the East Coast is breathtaking.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our wonderful restaurant and I am very sorry you felt disappointed following your visit to the Atlantis Restaurant. However, similar to the review posted by [travelling_jojo], I cannot help but feel that you have overstated your dissatisfaction due to us not offering seating on the outside deck on Wednesday October 30th, 2013.

It is not our policy to divulge information such as the hosting private events to the general public, unless it in some way impinges on our ability and capacity to provide our usual services to our guests. The Atlantis Restaurant can accommodate up to 200 guests at any one time. There is an inside dining room and an outside deck. From time to time, we reserve our right to use the inside dining room only for a variety of reasons which vary from inclement weather, large group reservations or special events. We did our normal buffet lunch service from 12pm to 3:30pm that day and it was no different from any other Wednesday Buffet at the Atlantis.

We have no less than nine tables on the inside by the window with the exact same view as the six tables by the railing on the outside. After consultation with staff on duty that day, it was revealed that you did indeed have a table by the window inside. The question must now be asked, did you visit the restaurant for our Bajan Lunch Buffet or did you visit just for a specific table outside? We like to think that our guests visit us for our food primarily, with the stunning view of the East Coast being an added bonus.

Here at the Atlantis we offer a sumptuous Wednesday Buffet for just $35 USD per adult or $20 USD per child aged 5-12 and this provides very good value for money considering the wide variety of food on offer. Sample menus can be seen here [http://www.atlantishotelbarbados.com/atlantis-buffets/] The Chicken Curry on that day was a Caribbean-styled Chicken Curry made with legs, thighs, ribs and wings as opposed to only breast meat. This is the reason why there were bones in the Chicken Curry.

As I stated in a previous review, I will state again, the only complaint we got that day was related to lunch being served inside rather than outside. Moreover, it is clear to anyone reading your review that you have rated us overall with two stars simply because you were unable to sit at a specific table on the outside. That in our opinion is truly unfortunate. Perhaps this is why you rated us five stars for our service… and for this, we thank you. Our team works extremely hard to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.

In closing, thank you for taking the time to review your dining experience with us and perhaps you will return in the not too distant future for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Best Regards

Went for Sunday lunch without a reservation and although the restaurant was extremely busy the lovely lady on the front desk went out of her way to give us a table overlooking the sea when we pleaded (just a little). The Bajan's are so well mannered and if you treat them with the respect they deserve they will always do their very best for you. Food (buffet) delicious and plentiful, location great although a little tricky to find but definitely worth going. An authentic Bajan hotel-believed to be the oldest on the island.
